Matt felt
himself get dizzy, rather than listening to his conscience which
told him to be angry and kick Shannon's ass. It appeared that
this was another relationship gone down the drain. He hadn't
really been with a female ever since Amy's ECW days when they
decided to break up because of their conflicting schedules. The
reason it took him so long to commit to someone else was because
the fear he had of getting his heart broken was so strong. Trish
was the one who convinced him that he didn't have to be afraid
but here she was making out with Shannon, a guy who he had grown
up with and helped out in the wrestling business.
Betrayal, that's what was transpiring before Matt's own eyes. He
never saw this coming and that's what made it hurt so bad. He
felt tears forming in his eyes and his stomach began to fill with
pain. All he could ask himself was, why did everything happen to
him, as he watched their kiss get more passionate. Why was he the
one that ended up falling too deep? Why couldn't any women be
satisfied with him? Matt was a good person. He never lied, didn't
drink, didn't smoke, always showed love to all his fans and never
was selfish. He never forgot where he came from. That's why he
couldn't figure out why his love life was so horrible. Was it too
much to ask for? He just wanted to find a woman who would love
him unconditionally and unfortunate for Matt, Trish was not that
woman.
Matt couldn't bear to watch any longer and walked away. He didn't
know where he was going. He just walked as tears appeared on his
face. People would speak to him but he wouldn't respond. It
didn't make any sense to him. He wasn't a hard person to have a
relationship with. He knew what a woman's worth was. He never did
too much or too little. Was there anybody out there who would
appreciate that? Obviously, there was something wrong with him
and he had to figure out what it was. Matt found himself standing
in front of the women's locker room, with the door wide open.
Amy looked up from the magazine she was reading and gasped,
seeing that Matt was crying. She dropped everything she was doing
and ran up to Matt, curiosity written on her face.
"What's wrong, man?" Amy said, taking Matt's hand and
rubbing it softly.
"Can I...talk to you...for a minute?"
"Sure, no problem, but let's do it somewhere else."
************
After ten minutes of searching, the two found a remote hallway,
far away from where everyone else was located. As soon as they
got there, Amy was shocked while Matt gave her a hug and cried on
her shoulder. She had never seen someone like this. Hell, she had
never seen a grown man act like this. Amy figured that it must
have been serious. The two sat down on the floor beside each
other.
"Matt, you have got to stop crying so that you can tell me
what's wrong with you. Look at me." Amy took Matt's face in
her hands and made him look into her eyes.
A feeling of sympathy overcame Amy. Looking into Matt's brown
eyes, she could see a lot of sadness. She could see that it was
unecessary sadness. She could see that Matt was very innocent in
whatever his situation was. She could see that he was desperate
to end what he was going through.
"I just caught Shannon making out with Trish." Matt
replied, not being able to get his mind off of the way they were
kissing. It was as if Trish saw his feelings as being worthless.
"You cannot be serious...oh, Matt, I am so sorry. Is there
anything I can do for you?" Amy said as Matt laid down and
placed his head in Amy's lap.
"If you can tell me why all the relationships I'm in are
diasters, if you can tell me why I feel as if no one cares about
me, if you can tell me why..."
"Matt, don't do this to me. I hate seeing you like this.
I've never seen you like this. To be honest with you, I don't
know why anyone would wanna hurt you and I really wouldn't feel
guilty if I strangled Trish to death." Amy said, knowing her
feelings were getting the best of her. The soft side in her was
coming out and that's when she was most vunerable to fall in love
or be extremely careless.
"I just can't comprehend why everything in my life is so
horrible right now. Trish, my friends and the fans were the only
ones who helped me get my mind off of it. You know, this whole
being off television thing. Now, I just caught my girl sticking
her tongue down my brother's best friend's throat. What have I
done to deserve all this? Whatever I've did, I'm sorry. You have
no idea how bad I feel right now." Matt sobbed, crying on
the inside and outside.
"I do have an idea of how you feel. You're my best friend
and trust me, if I've never told you this, I'm telling you
now...I care for you. Don't ever think you aren't loved and don't
you ever doubt me. I wish I could say something to cheer you up.
Most people I know would've just been like, oh well, it's her
loss. But look at you, I can tell you really liked her."
"I did, Amy. I thought she was different. She was the one
who told me that I had to get over my fear of getting my heart
broken in another relationship but there she goes, starting the
bullshit all over again...and it really hurts me."
"Well, since there's nothing I can say to you...maybe this
will do." Amy said before she kissed Matt, with such loving
reference and expertise that Matt felt like his head was
spinning.
Amy really didn't know what she was doing. She just couldn't
stand to see him like that and wanted to do something that would
help him get over Trish since their relationship obviously wasn't
gonna last. He just looked so innocent to her but at the same
time, he looked so beautiful. Actions spoke louder than words and
that's why Amy knew that her words weren't gonna get her anywhere
with Matt. She had to prove that she was serious about caring for
him. They eventually released themselves from their kiss and
looked into each other's eyes seeing each other in a different
light. This feeling was not a new one though. They had been a
couple in the past.
"Why did you do that?" Matt asked.
"It's just something I had to do." Amy replied, holding
hands with Matt.
"Was it something you've been wanting to do for
awhile?"
"I've always missed the old days, Matt. I remember how we
would give each other those looks while the other guys were
training me. I remember how we would kiss in the shade on those
hot days outside. I remember the day we had sex in your room and
the only light we had was the moonlight. Those were the days. We
had something very special."
"Yeah, we did that. When I think back on what we had, it
really does amuse me and really makes me miss it because of the
fact that I've never had a relationship like that. Even when you
left for ECW, I wasn't really that upset about it ending because
I knew you were on your way to reaching your final goal. Just to
see you succeed made me so happy. Of course, I missed you but I
didn't really acknowledge those feelings."
"The reason we broke up was because of the fact that our
relationship would have been a long distance one."
"Well, we aren't long disatnce now." Matt said before
he took her into his arms and brought her lips to his. He usually
wasn't the type to rush into things but he couldn't deny the way
he felt now. The first kiss he and Amy had shared made him
realize that he still had feelings for her. This time, he wanted
Amy to realize the same thing as he did his best to please her
with his kiss. It seemed that a case of deja vu was in the air
since Trish and Shannon had just walked up to see Matt and Amy.
"What the hell is this?!" Trish screamed.
Matt and Amy pulled back from each other, hearing Trish's voice.
After Amy recognized it was Trish, she became furious and lunged
towards her. She grabbed Trish's legs, which caused her to fall
back on the ground. It resembled a spear but unlike their
wrestling matches, it was not a planned move. Amy prepared to
punch Trish in her jaw but Shannon refrained her while Trish held
her back as a result of the pain she felt.
"Don't touch me!" Amy yelled before she slapped
Shannon.
Matt sprung into action and grabbed Amy, taking her to a separate
side of the room.
"I'm gonna kill her!" Amy said as she tried her hardest
to escape Matt.
"You stupid bitch! What the hell is your problem?!"
"Aw, come on, don't play dumb with me! You're the one that
started all this! How dare you take advantage of Matt's emotions
knowing the way he feels about you?! Shannon...I can't believe
you. After everything Matt has done for your ungrateful ass, you
have the audacity to kiss his girlfriend...well, his
ex-girlfriend."
"So what you're doing with Matt is any different from what I
did?! Bullshit. Obviously, he could careless about what I'm
feeling now." Trish said as Shannon helped her up.
"Yeah, I could careless because like Amy said, you're the
one who started all this. Shannon...I got nothing to say to
you." Matt said before he and Amy walked off.
