One hour later
Ice and The Rock were together doing a promo "Rock, I think it’s time, it’s time for Ice to go one on one with the Great One, what do you think about that?" Ice said.
"What does The Rock think? The Rock says, just bring it." The crowd cheers and they walk separately away.
"You ready for Sunday?" I asked Nicole.
"I’m excited and nervous, but I can’t wait." She replied.
"Well, Congratulations girl, you finally made it." I said smiling.
"Yeah, I’ve busted my butt for 10 months to get this, I’ll be damned if I’m gonna blow it, It’s finally happening for me, I can’t wait." Nicole said. I grabbed her and hugged her.
"For what it’s worth, I’m proud of you." I said.
"Thanks" She replied as "Rise" by The Cult hit and I went out to the ring.
The Rock and Ice had been going at it for about 15 minutes, the crowd erupted in boos when Stone Cold Steve Austin came out as the ref took a bump from Ice and went down. Stone Cold went in behind Ice, turned him around and gave him the Stunner. The Rock crawled over to Ice as the ref got up and made the slow 1-2-3.
"Your winner and NEW WCW Champion, The Rock." The crowd erupted in cheers as The Rock took his title and raised it up for the crowd. Ice slid out of the ring and to the back.
I made my way back to the dressing room, and when I got there my cell phone was ringing, I already knew who it was.
"Hi Melissa." I said.
"What took you so long?" She asked, sounding concerned.
"I was in the ring."
"Oh,ok." She said as I heard a lot of laughter on the other end.
"Am I on speaker phone?"
The girls laughed and Diana said "Yeah, you are on speakerphone."
"Melissa, I had a thought, I was talking to The Rock in the ring and he said I should go for it." I said.
"What?" She replied.
"How about, the day before No Mercy, we go out and have a nice, romantic dinner?"
"AWWWWWWW" was all I heard, but when they stopped laughing, Melissa said
"Yeah, I’d love to."
"Cool" I said as I hung up and packed my things.
I left the arena and headed for the airport, headed for Malibu, headed for home.
NICOLE
Oct. 21 – St. Louis, MO – No Mercy
I’m waiting her at the airport for two planes to arrive, one is carrying the girls in Dream, the other is carrying my friends Brooke and Casey. Jeff wrapped his arms around me and whispered "I love you Nicole." in my ear.
"I love you too Jeff" I replied as I saw Brooke and Casey come through the crowd.
I ran up to them and hugged them because I haven’t seen them in a month. The last time I saw them was last month when I visited Centralia with Andrea.
"Did you honestly think we would miss this?" Casey said.
"We’ve got more people coming hold on." I said as Casey and Brooke stared at Jeff.
Holly and Ashley came in first, we hi-fived each other, and soon Diana and Melissa joined us. Jeff led us to two separate cars.
"Casey, Brooke, you guys wanna come with me?" I asked
"Sure" Brooke said as she put her bags in Jeff’s trunk.
It wound up being Brooke, Casey, Melissa and myself in Jeff’s car and Ashley, Holly, Diana, Matt and Amy in the other car. We left the airport and headed to the venue.
We gave everyone their access passes and headed inside.
"Do you know where Brandon is?" Melissa asked as I looked at my watch. It was 11am.
"Brandon is most likely in a production meeting, he’s in the main event tonight. It’s gonna be a while." I said as we entered the Women’s dressing room.
"Isn’t it your debut tonight too?" Melissa asked.
"Yeah, I’m psyched, but what sucks is that I have to jump my boyfriend on TV. The Dudleys were defending the WWF Tag Team Titles against the Hardys. I put on a pair of camouflage pants the company gave me. "I guess this is my uniform." I said as Melissa smiled as I put on a Dudley Boyz ‘3-D’ t-shirt.
"How do I look?" I asked Melissa.
She stood up, smoothed out my hair, and moved some of it over my shoulders and said "Perfect." She then left the room, I’m guessing to go find her man.
As soon as Melissa left Andrea came in and asked "You pumped for tonight?"
"Hell yeah, I’m psyched." I said as I laced up my boots.
"Ok, so let’s go over the card for us tonight. The Hardys vs. The Dudleys for the WWF Tag Team Titles, X-Pac vs. me for the WWF Light Heavyweight Title, and Brandon ‘Ice’ Mars vs. Stone Cold Steve Austin vs. RVD in a cage for the WWF Title." Andrea said.
"Yup, that’s basically tonight." I said as I finished lacing up my boots.
"Let’s go" Andrea said as we left.
On our way to
the green room, we passed Brandon and Melissa making out.
"Where’s Jeff when I need him?" I said. Brandon
and Melissa started laughing. Devon Hughes a.k.a D-Von Dudley
then came up to us and said "We’ve got some planning to
do." I left with D-Von to talk about what happens tonight.
‘Tonight is my night’ I thought.
