PART FOUR OF "VOICE OF A STRANGER"

"Where did you get this" She asked starring at the chain with an Awe struck look in her eyes, "He dropped it earlier, and When I went to give it back to him he was gone" Jeff said lacing the Chain in his fingers. "Well, I can take you to his room, But I don't know if he will be awake" She assured getting up from behind the Nurses Station and leading Jeff down a Hallway.

Her hands reached into the Pocket of her coat as she fumbled for the Keys, Stopping abruptly at the last door of the Hallway she pulled out a Set of Keys and flipped through them until she found what she was looking for, Opening the Door quietly she backed away leaving the Door opened enough for Jeff to fit through.

He walked slowly into the Room, watching his steps to make sure he didn't trip over anything, With a soft breath of relief as he felt the Cool wood of the Desk underneath his hands. He placed the Chain carefully onto the Top of the Desk and backed slowly away, Watching the Light of the Hallway as he continued out of the Room, Something through caught his eyes, The shadows of a Poster just above Jamaal's bed, As his adjusted to the darkness he saw himself in the poster, A shutter went down his spine as he walked out of the room.

"Thank you" He said to Ms. Fonitini as he walked back towards Amy's room, "Sir" She called back, Causing Jeff to stop in his tracks, "Yes?" He asked worried over what her next reply would be "Thank You" She said calmly, He nodded his head and walked slowly back towards Amy's Hospital Room.

*Week Later*

Jeff stood against the wall of the Hospital Room watching as Amy placed the Last shirt in her Suitcase, "You ready Jeff" She asked sweetly smiling at him. "I have to do something" He said quietly. "All right, Well I will be waiting with Matt in the Lobby" She replied as she wheeled herself out of the room leaving Jeff by himself.

Over the past Week he talked to Jamaal atleast Twice a Day, It was the Only thing that kept Jeff's head level, The talks taught him how much he should value the fact he could walk and not depend on anyone. He walked slowly to the Desk and pulled out a Piece of Paper and a Pen.

Jamaal

Over the past week, I've learned more from you then anyone else in my entire life. From the obstacles that have been put in your way to the term of life you have life. They have inspired me to live each day like it was my last, Still I feel that I am the reason this happened to you, and I will never forget that I cost someone the ability to live a Normal life, I hope the fire in you never goes out Jamaal, For that would be a Truly Horrible day.

there's no one in town i know
you gave us someplace to go
i never said thank you for that
thought i might get one more chance
what would you think of me now?
so lucky
so strong
so proud
never said thank you for that
now I'll never have a chance
if you were with me tonight
I'd sing to you just one more time
a song for a heart so big God wouldn't let it live
may angels lead you in
hear you me my friends
on sleepless roads the sleepless go
may angels lead you in
