EFFIGY

EFFIGY

Did I conceive you, an Effigy?
to captivate my heart, dare I ponder this,
lovers you and me?
Stand still my heart, burning desires aching,
real in my chest.
~

Vast seas, distance shores separate
looming passions and thumping hearts
as you pledge love for me.

~
Searching in dreams, dreams half forgotten
half awakened in restless sleep.
And secrets, illusions kept from open eyes
Dare I too, utter this crux, conflicting torture,
my mind, stealth, enslaved, oh my effigy.
