If I had a sewing machine
I would sew my clothes
I’d make them fit.

I’d sew the seams to stay
I’d sew the hems to length.
I’d sew a button tight.

If I had a sewing machine
I would mend his clothes
I’d make them look like new.

I’d sew the seams together again
I’d sew the patches neat
I’d sew the buttons back on.

But I don’t have a sewing machine
So we wear our clothes of tatters.
