William Alexander MEADOWS

Died prior to 1850 census, Taney County, Missouri. "Descendants think that he is buried at the Tate Cemetery (in the vicinity of Highlandville, near Hwy 65), Christian County, Missouri.

William Meadows farmer, justice of the peace, and tax collector of Estill County, Kentucky, moved to Montgomery County, Kentucky perhaps between 1830 and 1840. In the 1840's he went to Missouri, settling first, it is believed by descendants, in the vicinity of St. Louis. According to family tradition, two sons and a grandson made the journey on horseback.
