Rudy the 'Girl'!!! |
Rudy sighed sadly as he learnt of his fate. He had to leave Surf Village. The sky was darkening. Rudy jumped into the pen, where his only friends were, the horses. He patted them sadly, fighting the tears tthat threatened to fall. "Goodbye," he whispered. He was about to leave the village when he heard a voice behind him. "Wait!!!" Rudy turned. It was Tony. Tony stopped breathlessly. "Rudy, this is all my fault!" He sobbed. Rudy comforted Tony. Tony suddenly handed him a bag. "Whats in here?" Said Rudy curiously feeling the bag. "You'll see..." Said Tony. Puzzled, Rudy peered into the bag, there he found a lilac, faded dress, some make-up and a hair brush. "Tony, is this some kind of jo-" Rudy looked up. Tony was gone. Rudy tucked the contents back inside the bag. Maybe he could trade them in the next town for some healing berries. Rudy walked out. Paused, and ran back into Surf Village. He 'had' to get a little bit of revenge now didn't he? After tossing a couple of chickens into houses and blowing the mayor's dog up, Rudy headed out of Surf Village. After walking for several hours. Rudy stopped for a rest. He sat on a rock. Only to find the rock sprang up and tossed him several metres into the air, he landed and hit a tree. Looking up, dazed from the impact of hitting the tree, Rudy realised it wasn't a rock at all, it was a giant balloon. The balloon bared its fangs and dived for Rudy, knocking him backwards into a REAL rock. Rudy stood up shakilly and reached for his hand cannon. His fingers closed around it and he aimed it at the balloon, pulling the trigger, he fired. The balloon dissapeared and Rudy stood in his victory pose. He tucked his hand cannon carefully back into his bag and started walking again. Many hours later, Rudy arrived at a large building, with thick walls, a moat and flags. "A...a...castle..." Rudy gasped as he looked at the giant towering building. He had never seen such a large building in his life before. The largest cottages in Surf Village were tiny compared to this castle. "Its an abbey actually." Said a vicar next to him. Rudy jumped at the voice. "An...abbey?" He asked. "A GIRLS Abbey actually." Said the vicar. "can...can...can i stay here for a night or two? i really need a place to stay..." Said Rudy desperatly. The vicar shook his head. "I know what you lads are like, you'll cause trouble...I'm afraid not boy, Go stay in Aldehyde instead, i'm sure they'll let you stay there." The vicar said firmly, turning to go. "How far is Adlehyde?" Rudy asked. "erm...about a day or so i should say." The vicar said slowly. Rudy looked up at the dark sky. If he tried to get to adlehyde now, he would probably get killed by the balloons. He shuddered remembering. He turned to ask the vicar if he could stay again, but the vicar had gone inside the abbey and closed the door on him. Rudy sat outside the abbey trying to to cry. He felt so frustrated! He suddenly remembered the bag Tony gave him. He opened it, and took out the dress. Now he knew what Tony meant! Hoping no nosy person was watching, he undressed himself and slipped the dress on. He brushed his hair and put the make-up on. He packed his normal clothes into the bags and knocked on the door. The vicar opened it again. "Oh! Hello miss! You came just on time! I was about to lock up for the night!" The vicar tipped his hat at Rudy. Rudy was suprised. ' That was easy...' he thought, staring wide-eyed at the bowing vicar. The vicar led Rudy in. Rudy gaped at the inside of the building. He had never been in such a big building before!!! In front of him was what looked like a church. To the left and right were doors and passageways. "By the way...what is your name?" The vicar asked. The question took Rudy by suprise. "Rudy!" Rudy said, he gasped and clamped his hand over his mouth. "Rudy?" The vicar asked suspieciously. "no...i er...meant...Ruby!!! Yes, Ruby...Its a girls name!!!" Rudy said shrilly, trying to sound like a girl. The vicar nodded slowly and relaxed. "Alright Ruby, i'll show you to your room." He led Rudy down the corridoors. "You will have to sleep in the hospital wing tonight, i'm afraid." The vicar opened a door to a room. It had many beds and was dimly lit by candles. There were two girls in the room. "Good night and sleep well Ruby miss." Said the Vicar quickly bowing and leaving the room. Rudy crossed the room to a bed. He sat down gratefully. "That girl looks like a boy!" Whispered one of the girls to the other girl. "ssssh!!! He-I mean, She'll hear you!" giggled the second girl. Rudy glared at them before blowing the candle next to his bed out and falling straight to sleep. Next morning he awaoke to find a bunch of girls crowded around his bed. "Hiya Ruby, the vicar told us about you!" said one of the girls happily. Rudy, blushing furiously at being around so many girls got up shakilly.Another girl put a tray of food in front of him. "Eat this! The vicar said you should eat!" She said giggling. Rudy didn't need telling, he started eating as fast as he could without choking. When he was finished, a picked his bag up. "I should head off to Adlehyde now," He said. He didn't want to be seen in the dress anymore and was dying to get out of it. He squeezed his way out from the girls and before they could react and ran down the stairs two at a time to the church alter. There, as he suspected, stood the vicar. "Thank you for your hospitality!" Said Rudy breathlessly. He bowed his head before running out. The vicar grinned at Rudy's retreating back. He stood up slowly. "Some boys just don't know when to quit do they? He even dresses as a girl to try and get in here!" The vicar chuckled to himself. Turning he headed for the library. |
