Brief history

Innovative integrated business service packages on technology business development, technology transfer, and raising of risk capital have been developed and successfully tested globally off-line by the Ten3 founder since 1995. This innovative approach has received several international awards. Rapid developments in the information and telecommunication technology in recent years made it possible to build a global online business service based on this successful model. This innovative Web system will be the first of its kind on the market and its systemic business concept and logic is new to Web masters. Thus it was found necessary to develop initially the laboratory prototype of Ten3 reflecting a sophisticated system of its logical links. Development of the laboratory prototype by the founder started in early April 2001. Its first version was presented to selected international partners who confirmed their keen interested to be associated with Ten3Technology e-ncubate, e-nnovate, e-nvest. The second module Ten2 Technology for environment and energy closely linked with Ten3 was added in mid-April 2001 in response to development and market needs to integrate environmental and sustainable development considerations into global business activities.

Management Team

In order to ensure right direction of further systemic development by professional Web designers, at the laboratory prototype stage Ten3 is being developed solely by its founder Dr. Vadim Kotelnikov who has:

The professional management team will need to be established once the prototype has been developed. To gain the global coverage, it is planned to form three strategic alliances in Asia, Europe and the United States who would coordinate activities in their geographical area.  The Board of Directors from strategic alliances and key partners will be established to guide the activities of the Ten3 management team. Preliminary negotiations in this regard have already been held with some prospective partners who indicated their interest.

Products and Services

The process of innovation has recently developed from a linear process into a systemic one. It arises from complex interactions between many individuals, organizations and environmental factors, as opposite to a linear trajectory from new knowledge to new product. Responding to this trend, the portal Ten3 will be the first on the global market to provide a unique systemic thinking support system connecting resources to opportunities globally, facilitating interaction among stakeholders and providing convenient online project development and management environment. Its communication areas are divided both horizontally, area-wise or sector-wise, and vertically (members and researchers) with an option of cross-fertilization among them.

Revenues will be generated at the initial phase mainly through membership fees. Fees for advertising at the portal pages, franchising of  geographical and sector-specific pages, commissions and services will start generating substantial income a few months later after a critical mass of customers registered with the portal.

As to developing world markets, barriers to entry include special requirement to customization, marketing, translation and payments in hard currency. These problems will be eased through establishment of local partnerships in developing economies worldwide.

Market analysis

Efforts to replicate the Silicon Valley’s innovation-friendly environment in other countries and regions didn’t produce desired results as establishment of its major components such as innovation favoring policies and critical mass of R&D laboratories, risk capital investors, business service providers and entrepreneurship development centers proved to be not enough. An effective system of interaction and cross-fertilization among these stakeholders is to be established so they could better understand each other’s needs and expectations for developing business contacts and synergetic partnerships.  While there is strong competition among both on-line and off-line service providers targeting specialized areas, a comprehensive systemic online business service has not been established on the market yet. Many specialized consultancy companies and B2B portals may treat Ten3 as a competitor. Instead of competing with them Ten3 would rather try to turn them into partners. It will link specialized complimentary online services providers to achieve synergy and develop comprehensive service package for its customers. Several specialized B2B portals have already indicated their interest in such cooperation. As to business consultancy companies, the portal would not substitute but rather benefit them by providing them with well prepared clients requiring tailor-made solutions. These mutual benefits should be explicitly explained to the potential competitors to co-opt them by forming alliances.
