I chose one of my earlier anime style picture as a reference. I'd save some time because there's no need to do model sheets or colour experiments. This one could be used as a colour model.
Next I did sketch of both characters in their new clothings. I chose standard seifuku for the younger girl and quite ordinary office lady suit with miniskirt for older one.
Third step was to try diffrent poses with both characters. So far I'm undecided which technique to use for the final work.
I've selected to use either of these sketches for the final version. Maybe I'll do it as a watercolour work with chinese ink lineart and use a separate watercolour background.
I made a felt pen lineart with pencil shadings out of one of the abandoned sketches.
I ended up doing the other final sketch as sumi ink work. Just to keep up my brush skills.
I chose the skecth for the final version and made and lineart of it with felt pens.

I decided to make this work look as much as anime style I could. So I decided to use separate watercolour background with computer coloured characters. I coloured the characters with PSP using maxium of three tone levels per colour (normal, shadow and highlight).

A cherry tree in full bloom seemed appropriet background for this work. A3 size done with watercolours and scanned in three pieces.
Finally I merged the background and the charcter layers with PSP, added a tag and did some minor level adjustments. The background perspective doesn't seem to quite fit for the chacters.
