A D-3 is an improved version of the original digivice, it opens up computer ports, which can transport the digidestined into the digital world and also enable digimon to armour digivolve using the digimon's energy.
A D-terminal allows the digidestined to keep in contact with each other by e-mail and also to store the digieggs inside of them.
The digiegg of courage allowed Veemon to armour digivolve into Flamedramon.
