Don't wanna close my eyes forever

Life goes by at the blink of an eye
And so I lay back and pray
Sometimes I feel like the gun is pressed to my head
Starin' down that barren round, then say "yes" and I'm dead
It's a test and I'm fed, got me stressin' instead
There's so many rules but it's the exceptions I dread
Silent confessions in bed, will they ever be heard?
Speaking slowly, going carefully over every word
So I can be sure to get all my thoughts straight
Praying for the strength to spread love and not hate
Because I don't wanna be like all those who self-destruct
Chasing wealth and such, in the afterlife in hell their stuck
I seek the Help Above, the ultimate peace of mind
Scowering my dreams in search at least to find
Some descent lines for me to speak my mind
Cuz the Truth is wonderful, unique, divine
So I seek the signs at all times and prepare for life
Because I don't wanna be the one to lose Paradise
