Peace of Mind

The anger builds within my body, a flaming inferno
I strive to hold down the heated actions but it burns slow
This flame is eternal, all the scars you earn
And it's so hard to learn but I've come too far to turn
There was so much hate in me and now I wait to see
How I come out, some doubt that I have faith in me
I pray for a brighter day to see because the darkness is long
Put these thoughts in poem form, some will mark this as wrong
Went from heartless to calm but it didn't happen over night
It kinda snuck on me, stuck in a lonely soldiers fight
I've waged wars with inner demons, it takes more than winner dreams and
Enraged for this sinner's screamin', cant take more of winter seasons
Cold nights is thinner breathin', the bare trees are so depressin'
Prepare me for slow confession, stare deep in yo' direction
I had no father to say, "Life's harder than it should be, son"
Or, "If You put your mind to it then it could be done"
Look where this life has put me, one wrong step is your death
And I cherish every breath because you never know what's left
And as I travel every path, I check it for traps
Walk it with ease in case it gets hectic perhaps
So I speak with this method and hope it's respected
Staring out into the vast crowd and hope we've connected
On my whole life I've reflected, now I must reach a conclusion
Of how to find peace of mind amidst all the confusion
