Without You

Without you a day becomes a thousand years
And I a lost soul caged and housed in tears

Without you the morning is a phantom wrapped in gloom
While I seek the sunrise that is too trapped to bloom

Without you another kiss will never be sweet
So into the shadows of solitude I forever retreat

Without you a wonderful life is now a mere memory
A tale to be told throughout the centuries

Without you I lie as a forsaken lover might
Born in a stir of echoes, not just another night

Without you a poem is only mere words
Where I cast off braggadocio and make my fears heard

Without you I can only face the choice and
Embrace my fate which so tastes like poison

Without you the stars cease to exist
Love is scornful and rough and there is no longer peace in a kiss

Without you is now the theme of my prayers
While I sleep awake and dream in a daze

To days of abundant happiness but for now I make do
As I stroll along this path without you
