My name is Ted Saselli and I live near Shelton, Washington which is in the western portion of the state about 25 miles north of the capital city of Olympia and 20 miles east of the Olympic mountains. I am 61 years old and have been retired from civilian service in the Department of Defense since 1993. My wife Sherry and I live in a lakeside community called Timberlake, which is located about 12 miles east of Shelton. This pristine residential development is nestled amongst beautiful Douglas Fir, Western Red Cedar, Birch, Alder and Vining Red Maple trees. The landscape abounds with Columbian Blacktail deer, raccoon, squirrel, an occasional black bear and a good sized cougar who has been seen wandering about recently. Rainfall here averages about 55 inches per year. However, in 1999 the total was a whopping 85 inches! Seattle, 40 miles to the east, averages 38 inches per year.
