Here are a few lines about Scott:
I became aware of Roy right before he died.  I was just crushed that I found something special that had always been there but I took for granted. I have never met him, nor ever saw him.  But I know he and I would have
been good friends.   He is the reason I even attempted to sing.  I would be driving around, listening to his music and singing along and my kids would always say that I sounded like him....I don't know that I really sound like Roy, ( I have been told that I sound like a cross between Roy and  Elvis) maybe on certain notes, but I knew I could hit the notes he did and hold them.
Of course not with the same power or control, but I could sing along with everything he did, including BLUE RAIN!   Friends and family told me I sounded good....I began to explore the realms of music  ( oh how I wish
I had paid closer attention to my music teachers! ) and singing.  I do not play a guitar (although I have attempted to learn) but mostly I wanted to just once, sing a song in front of people and touch them in some way like Roy did
(and still does!.)  After going through a tough divorce, I understood Roy's music even more.  I learned how to sing with emotion and true feeling.
One night, a few years ago, I was asked by a friend to get up with his band and sing the slow version of CRYING.   I closed my eyes, nervous as all get out,  and as the band played, I sang it and as I sang, I noticed a strange sound eminating from the audiance....a strange shuffling sound.  I opened my eyes half way through the first part and to my joy and wonder, the floor was filled with dancers!    I felt incredible and when I hit that famous ending,  I heard whistles and applause!  .I can not put into words the feeling inside me at this moment.   I thought of Roy and his influence on me and I thanked him.

People stamped there feet and applauded as I walked away from the mike, and for weeks, people would come up to me and tell me how well I did...This has led to me doing weddings and special event singing around our area....
You have to know what you are singing about to really give it your all.

After divorce and lost love's, I really know.   Now,  because of Roy,  I have been able to live my dream of singing and touching people through his music.

I still have a lot to learn and because I am a perfectionist, I may never be satisfied.   It is unfair for me to compare myself to Roy when I sing, and sometimes this actually gives me strength especially when I don't feel my voice is sounding good on a certain day.

It is amazing to me that not a day goes by without me thinking of this incredible man....A man with dark glasses, dark clothes and an unearthly voice.....

Here Scott has used a very simple technique of using Midi files as backing (sequenced by Gilles Paul) - if you havent got a proper midi sound card - listen to these and you will see how easy it is.
