The The Parents
Okay Mom and Dad. You've seen the stuff on the site about Drugs, Drinking and Sex. But Don't go rushing to your Teenagers and asking them questions. They May not be doing it.
But there is something you can do...
Even though you baby's growing up, they still need you. No matter how many time they say "I hate you" or "I never want to see you again" you know they still love you, and they do. This is why you should never give up on us. We may not look like we're listening, but we are, and we do care.
Being a teenager these days aren't as easy as you think. Sometimes, some of us are scared to even walk out to our mailbox in fear someone is watching us. We still have to go to school and believe it or not, school these days are harder then you think. We grow up fast. Soon we'll be having boyfriends/girlsfriends and one day fall in love. But don't get mad when we choose to go with them instead of a family picnic, we're still just teenagers. And don't get mad everytime we're a little late from coming home from the movies or out with friends. You know you did the same when you were our age.
Us teenagers today have a lot on our minds, so don't try to load us with everything at home. Give us space and time and most of all privacy. But never stop loving us. No matter what happens in the future or what happened in the past, we still need our parents to help and support us. Even when we get married.
But there are times when you need to stand up to us, tell us no, and at least act like our parents. And don't ever bee afraid to talk to us. Just pick a good time, not right before prom or while we're doing homework. Try to catch us when we're doing nothing. Which is pretty easy to find.
And remember, Don't only be our parents, be our friend.
