CHRISTMAS 2003

~Orchestra~
This year our fellowship decided to use the talents that God has given us. Mary, Cindy, Gigi, Mary, and Andrew formed a mini orchestra and devoted hours to practice. The orchestra performed a few carols and the Canon in D at the Bethlehem Church on the 24th and at our own Church on the 25th celebration night. Give a hand to the orchestra members as well as Mrs. Liu for the determination and patience.

~Skit~
Teens Corner had another drama production this year for Christmas. We prepared a 10-minute skit for our audience from church and chinese school. We incorporated what we have learned from the Bible studies into the skit. the performances were light-hearted, but they also delivered the themes that our church and our fellowship had in 2003: Shine for the Lord and Relying on Each Other Under God. Big Thank you for all the members who participated and supported the skit.

~Carolling~
Instead of going to the Children's Hospital, we decided to go to two old Folks' homes to share some carols with the elders. The experience was enjoyable and meaningful. As a group, we brought to the elders the good news of Christ's birth. We also attended the service at Pastor Ventura's church on the 24th and sang some carols to spice up their celebration. I am sure many of us would love to do the same thing next year again. Again, thank you to everyone who participate in this.

WINTER/SPRING 2003

~Bible Studies~
The cold weather allowed us more time to meditate on teachings from the Bible. After we concluded themes of Jesus, Self, Family, and Others, we approach our new theme: RELYING ON EACH OTHER. With Pastor Ventura and Mrs. Liu leading us through different topics, we learned how to rely on each other under God. Among all things, love, patience, acceptance, and faith are all important aspects to relying on others. I hope that all of us can truly apply these points personally and create stronger bonds with neighbours and thus truly rely on God.

~Joint Fellowships~
In Spring 2003, Teens Corner had the opportunities to have joint fellowship with other groups in church. We first joined the Praising Grace Fellowship (adult's fellowship) in a night of discussion regarding relationships among parents and children. We also invited the Church Council Members including the Elders to join our fellowship gathering. The night featured many exchanges of ideas. Thanks to our church members for their time and enthusiasm in participating our events.

FALL 2002

~Praise & Worship~
Praise & Worship was basically a "round 2" of Mini-Concert we had at the beginning of this year. This time, we invited Mrs. Liu to join us and share with us her insights on being a good Christian youth. The night concluded with hymns.

~Family Visits~
We had two family visits in October and November. First one was held at Mary and Andrew's house, and the second one at Cindy and Victoria's house. The nights featured different group activities through which we learned more about our friends and their family. Thanks Mary, Andrew, Cindy and Victoria for opening your homes to us.

SUMMER 2002

~Retreat~
One of this year's biggest highlight of our fellowship was the RETREAT 2002 took place at Sunwolf, Squamish. Our retreat has a really tight schedule packed with many bible study sessions and fun activities. "Under One Roof" was the overall theme for our retreat with focuses on learning about Self and Family through the Bible. Other "juice" of the retreat included Campfire/songs, Star-watching, Night-hike, BBQ, and some cooking/washing. Though the 3-day retreat was a bit brief, we were blessed with nice weather and safety. Retreat 2002 was a great event for many of us to conclude our summer holiday! Special thanks to everyone for taking part in the retreat. Applause brothers and sisters from church who supported us tirelessly in various preparations such as the fundraising lunch. Also BIG THANKS to Pastor Ventura for guiding us in learning God's Word. (and in the night-hike!)

~Fun Stuff~
The gorgeous sunshine in the summer made a lot of outdoor activities a blast! From June to August, we did a family visit at Gigi's house, Beach Party, Farewell Party for Mark, BBQ at Elisa's place and much more! Thanks to everyone who welcomed us to their homes, who participate in these events. We also welcomed a few newcomers into our fellowship. Cheers!

SPRING 2002

~Bible Study~
As our bible studies centering "Jesus" approaches the end, we did one final bible study on leadership and discipleship. We looked at several famous political leaders, such as Mao Tse Tung, and Hitler. Things like being visionary, ambitious and powerful etc. came to mind. We also looked at how Jesus was successful in being a leader. I'd never thought it would be so simple. All you need to be a good leader is "to be gentle, kind, humble, meek, and patient. Put up with each other, and forgive anyone who does you wrong, just as Christ has forgiven you." Thanks to Joe and Mark for the bible study and that we learned more about how Jesus was a successful leader and how he chose his apostles. We could never be a good leader if we didn't have faith. Just like King James. He was a shepherd and he became a king because he had faith in God. He believes that God will help him. Therefore without any shields or helmets, he won the King and gained his own Kingdom. Faith is very powerful. Use it wisely.

~Gym Night~
March commenced with a All-Time Favorite event: GYM NITE. Our youthful energy filled the whole gym in Burnaby South on March 1. We enjoyed various activities such as badminton, basketball and volleyball. We also welcomed some newcomers as well as guests from our church. We hope everyone had a great time and look forward to see YOU in the coming events.

WINTER 2001/2002

February involved quite a lot of thinking. This romantic month started with an exciting night of debates. We discussed some issues that many christians encounter in their lives. The topics we talked about included "Should christian date a non-christian?" and "Should we give money to a pan-holder?". It sure is a good idea for you to consider these two issues and other issues carefully. And we encourage you to consult the bible for guidance. The rest of the month we did some chinese new year crafts, and enjoyed some leisure bible studies related to time management and love/romance.

Mini Concert
January featured a lot of MUSIC! Our first Mini-Concert (also named "Finger Friday") was led by Florence, Joe and myself. Thank you Florence for her fantastic idea of having a mini-concert as a way to praise our Heavenly Father. The night, held at Joe's place, was filled with many warm songs and with lovely singing voices of our fellows. Thank you to Mrs. Shen and Cheryl for their inspirational sharings. Also (personally), want to thank everyone for allowing me to do a honest sharing. Once again, thanks to those who brought "finger foods" and hopefully in the near future, we can have another wonderful Mini Concert.
