Myth # 1 - Join as many Paid to Surf Programs as you can. The more you join the more you'll make. Getting in early is the key!

Fact # 1 - Yes, there are literally hundreds of programs available and at least two new ones announced each week. The fact is 99% of them will never send you a penny or even see release. Why do people create the websites and announce the programs and then not follow through? Most, though not all, are used to gather user data. When you sign up for these programs you fill out a user form and demographics survey. These are then sold to mailing list companies and spammers who pay premium prices for work at home/business opportunity enthusiasts. As you recruit more people you actually help build the mailing lists! This is known as viral marketing and it's extremely effective.

Myth # 2 - Get paid $40.00 per second for viewing a couple of banners.

Fact # 2 - Reputable paid to surf companies do not offer insanely high rates to view banners. Number one they don't have too. Number two if they did they would quickly be out of business. Number three advertisers will not pay these inflated figures for viewers because they don't have too either. They can always buy banner impressions on the top internet portals like Yahoo! or AOL for as little as $10 per thousand impressions. Why would they pay wackysurfer or whomever more then this amount for their viewers? The fact is they won't. Viral marketers can promise you the moon because they aren't going to pay you anyways!

Myth #3 - All Paid to Surf Programs are Scams.

Fact # 3 - Not true. There are a few (a handful actually) reputable companies that will reward you for viewing ads while online or reading email. The key to real success is selecting the programs that are real and then using the viewer or service and recruiting others. Its relatively simple if not that exciting. The VAST majority of people spend 90% of their time searching for the holy grail and join every program in existence rather promoting a few good ones that actually pay. After six months of this foolishness they throw their hands up and say " I am not making anything, so the whole deal is crap. " Don't fall into this unhappy trap and you just might make some money with Paid to Surf.
