The Use of Force Powers

Jedi powers are split into different levels consisting of 1 through 8 , 1 being the lowest and 8 being the highest level that can be attained. An example would be a level 5 Jedi that wishes to use the power Emptiness. Emptiness is a level 4 Lightside power. Since the power is one level below his actual level the Jedi must use 2 preps ( a description within a post that builds up to a completed action but does not complete this action within that post ) . The first prep is where you open yourself up to use the Force and you draw upon its strength. In the second prep you describe the effect of the power you used.

Lets say the level 5 Jedi wishes to use the Level 5 Force Power Force Harmony. He must use the first and second prep to open himself to the Force and then the third to describe the powers effects.

If that same Jedi wished to use the Level 1 power Concentration he only must prep one time and in that prep he opens to the Force and describes the effects of his power.

After the successful  use of each power the Jedi must once again start from the beginning to use a power. Some powers have sublevels, such as telekinesis. It splits up as follows:

Level 2 to 4 Equipment scale
Level 5 Character scale
Level 6 Walker scale
Level 7 Capital ship scale
Level 8 Command ship scale

Telekinesis is a level 2 power. Our Level 5 Jedi is able to use telekinesis to move a object at a character scale in size. He would also only need 1 prep to do this. If a player wishes to they can boost themselves to higher levels above the Level 8. For each level above the level 8 they must first prep to raise themselves to that level, then at Level 9 they must prep 4 times to use a power at that Level, at Level 10 they must prep 5 times, level 11 is 6 preps and level 12 is seven preps. At level 10 the absorb and dissipate area increases to starfighter scale and at level 12 is capable of altering the fabric of the galaxy.
