Directed by - Ahn Byung Ki. 2 Years ago 7 friends Sun Ae Hye Jun Eun Ju - Kyung Ah Mi Ryoung Jung Wook Se Hoon Hyun Joon They all gather and a terrible secret is revealed. Shortly after Kyung Ah mysteriously takes her own life Sun Ae returns to Seoul after 2 years away in the US and visits Hye Jin and informs her that she has run away to escape from Kyung Ah who is pursuing Sun Ae. Hye Jin is shocked by this as she witnessed Kyung's demise up close and personal. Mystified she vists each of the friends to disclose Sun Ae's horriffic revelation. One by one the friends also start to see Kyung Ah. Just what happened 2 years ago to strike so much fear into them. I found 'Nightmare ' to be an extremely entertaining psychological horror movie with some above average performances from the cast. The story and direction is competently done with several plot twists thrown in for good measure and the overall appearance of the film is sufficiently dark and moody, with Kyung Ah being extremely disturbing in apperance and stature. I read somewhere that a female movie-goer was so terrified by 'Nightmare' that she actually fainted in the theatre. She must have had a very weak heart for this to have happened as however good a movie it is, it isn't exactly Pant Wetting. It does contain several jumpy moments but it isn't in the same mould as the amazing 'RING 2'. However if you want to see a solid movie that keeps your attention throughout then you can't go far wrong with this. 8********stars. Are you ready? You'll be the next! |
