2000.

After inadvertently rescuing a damsel in distress Ace finds himself falling head over heels in love with her. The feelings are reciprocated unfortunately a recent alien invasion is slightly hampering the pair. What was once a quiet town has turned into a haven for shuffling zombies hell-bent on eating their way through the populace.
If you want plot then you have come to the wrong place, if however you want hotpants, zombie love, ladyboys, nudity and excessive profanity then you are in for a treat.
Wild Zero is B movie fodder of the highest order, the story and acting are disastrous, the situations and camerawork are pathetic and the whole feel is one of a mish-mash of ideas just thrown together without any due care or attention. It feels like a student movie with more than a passing nod towards the movies of Tarantino and Rodriguez, right down to the guitar riffs favoured by both directors.
I have seen many zombie flicks and the one common theme is their hunger for flesh, no matter where it is they will sniff it out and share it emphatically with their undead brethren. In Wild Zero however their love for flesh is just as strong but in this case they need bloody guide dogs and GPS guidance systems to actually find it as they shuffle about in a slightly menacing manner. Not since Peter Jackson’s ‘Braindead’ have zombies looked this desperate. It feels like I am hammering this movie but I don’t mean to, I really enjoyed it and everything it stood for. Just good old fashioned fun, even if it isn’t the most groundbreaking movie I have ever seen.
Gratuitous violence has never been so much fun.
