| These pictures are seven years apart, and a lot happened in between them. It all began with the cricket club that was established at our grammar school, Gymnasium Tegernsee, in 1992. Cricket became popular very quickly and our school became an internationally known cricket stronghold. As early as 1994, the former England fast bowler, Harold Rhodes, who was to become the long-serving German national coach later, paid his first coaching visit to the young hopefuls (see picture above). There were more visits to come - by other ICC coaches, too. Then TCC youth players were selected more and more regularly to play for the DCB national teams. In 1998 we felt the time had come to participate in the league run by the Munich Cricket Association. And in early 2000 we eventually founded a cricket branch in the TV Tegernsee von 1888 e.V. - the Tegernsee Cricket Club. We are particularly proud of our youth development. No other club in Germany can boast as many youth players as the TCC. Last summer we had our first visit by the famous MCC from London. In 2002 we are about to stage our sixth indoor tournamet, we are looking forward to our fourth outdoor season, we are going to go on our third tour to Vienna, ... |
