Jahommie's Haven> Good Times
As the boom box pumps out the greatest hits of Tim McGraw, my siblings and I move simultaneously across the floor, mouthing the words of "Down on the Farm." My youngest sister, Amy, bounces around frantically trying to makeup for her short stride by taking two steps to everyone else's one step. Mom and dad are in the background laughing hysterically as all five of us line dance around the living room. The blaring music absorbs the slamming of the front door. Around the corner peers the head of my sister's homecoming date, hair spiked, and dressed up in a tux. My sixteen year old sister continues to heel-toe-clap, completely unaware that her homecoming date is taking in the whole scene. The whole room erupts with laughter once my sister comes to the realization that her date is present. This scene is not too uncommon in my family. Country music, line dancing, and of course embarrassing moments are never in short supply.
