Weight Reduction

Here i will go over what I have personally done to reduce the weight of my car and weighed in to the most exact weights possiable. These are not rumored or estimated weights these are the weights as i got them.

Please note that this is all on a 94 civic EX your results may vary depending on the model of your car.
Tar                                                                                                   20 Lbs
Passenger Seat                                                                                 35 Lbs
Rear seat  -Top section                                                                     25 Lbs
                 -Bottom Section                                                                7 Lbs
Switch to CF hood                                                                             15 Lbs
Switch to Greddy Header                                                                   10 Lbs
Power Steering                                                                                  10 Lbs
Rear Trim/Pillar cover                                                                        3 Lbs
Rear sides/ armrests                                                                         10 Lbs
Carpet                                                                                              10 Lbs
Spare tire and mounts                                                                      25 Lbs
Switch to Testpipe                                                                              5 Lbs
Trunk board, panels, and carpet                                                         5 Lbs
Bass Tube                                                                                         15 Lbs
Misc bolts, trims, Rear Speakers, shifter cover, etc
20 Lbs
                                                                                            Total   215 Lbs
Using a generic et calc and hp calc that reduction should give you about 9 WHP and .25 off your ET. Note that these calcs are inaccurate but give a pretty good estimate. Not bad since its all free, and can be put back.

Other Estimated weight savings not yet done or tested.

AC System  20-30 Lbs
Smaller Battery  15-20 Lbs
Wheels and Tires(rotational mass less is WAY faster) 5-10(x4)
Suspension and Control arms 15-50+ Lbs
Drag Brakes  Ad for 80 Lbs
Sunroof, mounts, motor  50 Lbs off the TOP of the car
Ceiling cover and piller trim 10-15 Lbs
Front door panels w/ window motors 20 lbs
Fuel tank to a fuel cell 20-50 Lbs
Dash to a Custom Dash 20-40 Lbs
Bumper Support front and rear 35-60 lbs
Switch to fiberglass or CF trunk 5-10 Lbs
Switch to a Light Weight seat 10-25 lbs
Fal windows  30-110(depending on what class is replaced)

There is more but thats all i can think of now as you can see you can get your car a lot lighter if you want to spend the time and money. the minimum total for above is 330 Lbs on top of the 215 as said before which makes 545 lbs that brings the cars total to 1898 Lbs, now thats a light car!

for fun the maxs for the list above would be 600 on top of the 215 as said before makes 815 lbs which makes the total car weight 1628 Lbs, and thats still streetable. using the same calc as before a stock d16 should run a 13.7 at 99 mph not bad at all considering the stock engine!
