I don't really care for the singer of this song (Madonna), but this was too good an inspiration to miss^_^

Timeframe: Starts off with Avalanche finding Vincent.

Haven't we heard
He's some kind of beautiful stranger
You could be good for me
I have a taste for danger
If I'm smart then I'll run away
But I'm not so I guess I'll stay
Heaven forbid
I take my chance on a beautiful stranger
I looked into your eyes
And my world came tumbling down
You're the devil in disguise
That's why I'm singing this song

Cid swallowed hard as he saw Cloud and Tifa leave the Shinra mansion with someone else. A couple minutes later, Cloud introduced him to the entire group as Vincent Valentine. He'd be joining them in their quest against Sephiroth.

"Cid, why don't you pair up with Vincent?" Cloud suggested as they all disbanded for the night again, to buy supplies or go head into their inn rooms.

Vincent observed Cid silently. Cid did the same, licking his upper lip nervously as he saw the caped man's incredible physique. "S-so Vince...wanna go get a drink or something?" He asked, having no idea of what else to say.

Vincent looked down on him, seeming slightly annoyed at his prescence. "No. I am not interested in making friends with any of you. I simply wish to destroy Hojo, that is all."

"Oh...so you don't wanna do anything?"

Vincent scoffed. "If you knew what was good for you, you'd leave me alone. I used to be a Turk. I'd kill anyone for money." He started walking off towards the inn. "Have a nice evening, Mr. Highwind."

Cid sighed as he comitted those crimson eyes to memory. //You say no now...but maybe another day...// He quickly jogged after him, not planning on giving up so easily.

To know you is to love you
You're everywhere I go
And everybody knows
To love you is to be part of you
I paid for you with tears
And swallowed all my pride
da da da da ......
Beautiful stranger

Beautiful stranger

Cid yawned as he left the bridge of the Highwind. He decided he should go up to the top deck before turning in for the night. As he opened the door to the outside, he felt invigorated by the fresh air. Looking around, he saw a dark figure huddled at the starboard side of the deck. "Vince, that you?"

The figure stood up suddenly, vigurously rubbing his face. "Um, yes, Highwind. It is me." Stepping out of the shadows, Cid saw that it was indeed Vincent.

But when he saw how the eyes were puffy and red, especially compared to Vincent's normally pale face, he deduced he had been crying. "Vince, what's wrong?"

"Nothing is wrong." Vincent answered a little too quickly. He walked up to the railing, staring down as the earth moved below. "Besides, it is none of your business."

Cid shrugged as he walked up quietly to Vincent. //Poor guy...// "C'mon, ya sure ya don't wanna talk about it?" He moved next to Vincent, close enough to see the ex-Turk's shoulders were shaking.

"Yes, I am quite sure!" Vincent turned and yelled. "I wish you would leave me alone!" His anger had reached a new breaking point, and he had to release it. He shoved the pilot away from him, planning to run once he was able.

Cid fell back suddenly, then tripped over a length of cable. He yelled in surprise as he felt himself go over the railing. Only by sheer luck, he caught himself, hanging on the railing his his hands. "Vince! Help!"

Vincent gasped when he saw what he had done. He ran to Cid, holding out his arms. "Grab onto me Cid! I'll pull you up!"

Without a moment's hesitation, Cid grabbed onto Vincent's arms, and let the ex-Turk pull him back on the deck. Once safe, his legs gave from under him, causing him to land hard on his butt. "Gods...that...oh gods...." He hugged himself, trying to stop shivering.

Vincent looked at him, feeling very guilty for his actions. "Forgive me Cid. That was not my intention when I pushed you away." He kneeled down, hoping he sounded as sincere as he felt. //That was almost another sin...One of large porportions...//

"It's OK...just gimme another minute..." Cid closed his eyes, and slowly he stopped trembling and his breath slowed to a normal level. //He called me 'Cid'...instead of 'Highwind'....// Opening his eyes, he looked at Vincent. "I don't blame ya Vince. I just wish you'd let me in..." He stood up with help from the pale man. "Why don't ya trust me?"

"I trust no one...It is only a way of getting hurt, but..." Vincent sighed softly. "I owe you somtehing after....this..."

Cid smiled, wrapping an arm around Vincent's waist. "C'mon then. Let's go to my room. We'll be more...'comfortable' while we talk..."

If I'm smart then I'll run away
But I'm not so I guess I'll stay
Havn't you heard
I fell in love with a beautiful stranger
I looked into your face
My heart was dancing all over the place
I'd like to change my point of view
If I could just forget about you

Cid led Vincent to his room. The ex-Turk was very tempted to pull away, but he still felt guilty for almost killing Cid. //Any other person would be extremely angry with me. But he seems to actually be glad with this situation.// He wondered why the blond was so optimistic. //It is sickening....if he knew what life was really like, he'd quit being so lighthearted...//

They walked into Cid's room, and the pilot pulled Vincent onto a bed. "Vince, why are you always so cold?" Cid raised his hand, trying to cup Vincent's face.

Vincent turned away, frowning. "It is a neccesity. My life has not been all fun and games like some people. You had best just leave me alone. I am more trouble than I'm worth."

Cid removed his gloves, turning suddenly to hold Vincent's face in both hands. "I want this trouble..." He moved forawrd, kissing Vincent's lips with a strong passion.

Vincent tensed up immediately, pushing Cid away. But the pilot was ready this time; so instead of being pushed back, Vincent shoved himself back onto the bed. "Careful Highwind...You don't know what you're dealing with here..." His eyes flashed bright red, a warning.

Cid sighed, but didn't look too discouraged. "I don't care either..."

To know you, is to love you
You're everywhere I go
And everybody knows
I looked into your eyes
And my world came tumbling down
You're the devil in disguise
That's why i'm singing this song to you

To know you, is to love you
You're everywhere I go
And everybody knows
I paid for you with tears
And swallowed all my pride
da da da da ......
Beautiful stranger
da da da da ......
Beautiful stranger......

Vincent growled instictively, his metal claw flying up and grabbing Cid's throat. "I am pure evil Highwind...a monster..."

Cid moved forward slowly, calling Vincent's bluff. For a bluff it was, as Vincent pulled his claw away before Cid could injure himself. "See? You ain't evil. You are so sexy though..." Cid straddled Vincent's thighs, leaning down so he could kiss the chest below him. His hands quickly began to undo the buttons, exposing the marble-like skin. "Yes..." Cid kissed it softly, feeling Vincent respond.

"N-No Highwind...We can't..." Vincent hissed as he felt Cid's tongue entice his nipple. "Gods...C-Cid..." His eyes closed in bliss, his arms moving around the pilot, holding him close. //Never....never have I felt this type of touch...// "But I don't deserve this...I almost killed you..."

"Don't matter...I won't ever be the same...You're what I've been waiting for my whole life."
