There are two versions of the Telecom Management Database, one is for MS Access 97 and another one for MS Access 2000. If you downloaded the Access 97 version, you won't be able to use it with Access 2000. Instead you will receive an error message when you try to open the application. The error message will look like this:

The reason for this error message is because the database must be converted to the current version of MS Access. When the MS Access 97 version was designed secured access was implemented to prevent modifications to the database. The new version will allow you to modify the database to meet your particular needs and also create, customize, repair and compact the database.  Currently there is no work around for this problem.

The new version for MS Access 2000 is not compatible with previous versions of the program. Therefore you will have to manually up-date your site's information with the new database. 

How to modify the database

If for any reason you would like to modify the database to meet your particular needs, access can be obtained by holding down the "shift key" as you open the application. This will prevent the program from opening in user mode and you will have access to modify the program.
