Manuals for Macintosh FTP clients: "Fetch"
The most popular FTP client for the Macintosh is Fetch. It's newest version, 3.0.3, is not more than 1.1 MB big. Fetch is especially useful if you're still using an older version of Apple's operating system, like System 7. But Fetch runs perfectly on MacOS 8.6 as well. The best thing about Fetch is that it is very easy to use. If you can navigate through an Open File dialog, you won't have any problems using Fetch.
To get Fetch, just visit any of the many software sites that offer Macintosh software, like Download.com or MacUpdate. Fetch is freeware.
Once you have downloaded Fetch, you can use it to upload and download files to and from your Yahoo! GeoCities FTP directory, or to download files from other FTP servers. Here's our manual on how to use Fetch with GeoCities.
- Logging on to GeoCities FTP server
- Uploading a single file to your FTP directory
- Uploading multiple files to your FTP directory
- Deleting files from your FTP directory
- Downloading files from any FTP server
- Creating a new subdirectory
- Disconnecting from GeoCities FTP server
