Henry and Linda Black are Frank's parents. Linda committed suicide when Frank was only five. Frank's estranged father made contact with him at christmastime 1997 and Frank learns his mother's secret gift; Linda could predict death starting with the death of her brother in world war II and ending with her own suicide. Over fifty years later, Frank finally makes peace with his father.
