Buttermilk Cornbread

2 cups cornmeal

1/2 cup flower

1 tsp sugar

2 tablespoons of melted shortning

1 egg

1 1/2 to 2 cups of buttermilk

Mix all ingredients together. To melt your shortning do it in the pan u plan on making your cornbread in. It only takes a few minutes. After u have mixed your shortning in thoroughly pour it into your pan and bake on 450 until golden brown and put on a plate cut and eat with butter.
