Gossip is emerging that Emmerdales Viv Windsor will be killed off at Easter during a tragic storm . The character apparently falls to her death after a day trip turns to death. Only rumoured!
Not Marraige For Romeo and Juliet
The resident Weatherfield lovers Leanne Battersby and Nick Tilsley will not wed later this month as papers suggested. Wedding day episodes were filmed but the occasion is shockingly halted by Gail and Janice before the vows were taken. Phew!
Will Maureen Return?
Rumour has it that Sherrie Hewsin , ex corries Maureen Elliot , will return later in 1998 for a suprise visit. The actress revealed in an inteview that she may be reprising the role later this year if things go ahead.
Mitchell Movies
Ross Kepm , EastEnders Grant Mitchell is apparently quitting the soap later this year if plans for a Hollywood career go through. The actor is meetinng bosses in LA to discuss movie plans and if they are sucessful then its bye bye Mr Mitchell.
Controversial Corrie
Coronation Street has introduced soaps first transexual character. The role will be seen on screens later this year and is set to break new ground for soaps. big boss Brian Park defends the move by saying "We will see the storyline follow a character based route - not issue led"

Hot 1998 Storylines in Home and Away
The latest Home and Away storylines will see Pippa Ross move away to Canberra with Ian , Marylin and Donald try for a new baby , Cgloe and Lachie move in together and rumours are abounding that Shannon Reed will make a return in 1998 Home and Away to film in UK
Home and Away is set to film some exciting episodes in the UK next year when some cast members fly out . The storyline will see Selina Roberts return to the show for a few episodes when the residents of Summer Bay hear that the travelling student has fallen ill in England they head out to see her. Other characters said to be on their way are Irene , Marylin and Steven.
Nigel and Tiff Quit EastEnders
Two big stars may leave EastEnders in the new year!
Paul Bradley has said that Nigel will be off in 1998 when he finds love with Clares teacher and moves away from Walford with her. A happy ending for the hapless video king!
Martine McCutchleon may also quit the square. On TFI Friday recently the actress said she may leave her role as Tiffany Mitchell when her contract is up in August. She may perusue a singing career .
There He Goes - Here He Comes
The lates leak from EastEnders is that Frank Butchers return will be built up over a few months with a devastating storyline.
In the next few weeks Roy Evans is rumoured to have a minor heart attack from the recent stress of work troubles. This is recovered easily and life is as usual. Around Christmas time Frank will make a breif visit to the square.
Then in March a tragedy strikes the Evans houshold as Roy is killed by a huge heart attack . This paves the way for Frank to return and eventually a reuinion between Pat and Frank will occur. This is just another tragedy for Pat who seems to carry the weight of the world on her shoulders.
Cindy : Guilty?
Rumours are abounding that Cindy Beales imminant departure is to shock fans when the gutsy blonde bombshell gets 10 years in prison for attempted murder.
You may remember that Cindy arranged for her husband Ian to be shot in true soap fashion - but did a runner to Italy before the police got enough evidence to prosecute.Now the rumour is that when actress Michelle Collins leaves her role of Cindy soon she will do it when Cindy is sent to prison.
Perhaps Ians latest Partner In Crime Annie Palmer has contacts that will get Cindy put away . One things for sure we here at Soap Heaven will miss Cindy , that return to the Vic Scene on Friday was Cindy at her acid tongued best! Viva LaMegaBitch!

Gillian is Not Leaving - Exculsive!
Contrary to recent rumours (sorry!) Gillian Tayleforth is not quitting her role as Kathy Beale / Mitchell . It was reported she would leave the role in March as she was bored.
Producers hit out at the news bny saying " Gilliian is considering taking a break from work , its something all EastEnders longest serving cast members can do".
But what is juicy is the rumour that Kathy may get involved with a new man early in 1998. But its not just any man - its the local parish Vicar! What will Sarah Hills say.........?

Will Jack Go?
Bill Tarmey, who plays Jack Duckworth in Coronation Street, has said: "Leaving the show would not be the end of the world, in fact it wouldn't bother me at all."
And he hinted that he would rather like a break from the show, along the lines of the one enjoyed by Simon Gregson (Steve McD) when his character was jailed.
"Being carted off to a prison for a year or two for perhaps a bit of pub-related fraud or whatever, would give me a great chance to recharge my batteries,"says Bill.
I'll Be Back
Lindsey Coulson may have just left EastEnders, but she has dropped the broadest of hints that she wants to return.
Says Lindsey, who plays Carol Jackson: "Playing Carol is too much fun to say goodbye for it forever. I want to do other stuff but if the scriptwriters leave the door open for me, then I shall be cock-a-hoop."

Pop-Star Chris
Coronation Street's mechanic Chris Collins is quitting the show - to become a pop singer. Matthew Marsden, who plays Chris, plans to leave when his latest six-month contract runs out at Easter.
The news will come as a blow to Street bosses, as only last week the 23-year-old was voted Most Popular Newcomer at the National TV Awards. A friend said "Matt was brought into Coronation Street because of his looks. They wanted to build him up to get the heart-throb vote...and he's certainly done that. But he doesn't want to become typecast, and that is why he will make a pop career his priority in 1998."
Columbia Records confirmed that they have signed up Matthew for a "singles and an album deal." However, Matthew was coy about his latest career move. "All I can say is I've signed my latest Street contract and I will be working hard to fulfil that," he said.
