Part 2

Jessie quickly finished her cereal. She didn’t look too great, and she
was unusually tired, but she could get through the day. Maybe and early
bedtime would help.
The dream was still on her mind. Why did she keep having it? Normally
she would of asked Hadji, but he was in Bangalore and she did not think
her dad would like her to rack up the phone bill because of some dream.
She could e-mail him, but she thought it would be hard to describe it to
a machine. Besides, he was busy enough.
Jonny looked even worse than she did. He had dark circles under his
eyes, and when he came downstairs she had to ask him three times if he
wanted to drive today. Normally he would of jumped at the chance.

After school they played in Questworld, testing a new game Jonny had
bought the day before. When an assailant had creeped up behind her, he
had gone pale when the figure had brandished a knife, even in VR. She
had easily kicked that creep to the ground.
“Jonny, what’s wrong?” She finally asked him.
Jonny looked at the ground. “Oh, nothing. I didn’t get much sleep last
night.” he said. She didn’t want to pressure him, he looked bad enough
already.

Now that she thought about it, he hadn’t been acting like his usual
self for the past week or so.

	Two hours later, at dinner:

“Kids, we have been invited to a dinner given by my good friend, Dr.
Nick Charles, on Friday. Tomorrow. It’s formal dress, and I’ve already
told him we can come. There will be dinner and dancing, then Nick is
going to give a speech.” Benton was saying.
“That sounds fun! he’s that guy that’s working on the solution to world
hunger, huh? I'd love to hear him talk. Doesn’t it sound fun Jonny?” she
nudged him with her elbow. As if coming out of a daze, he mumbled:
“Yeah sure. I think I’ll turn in early.” He got up and walked out the
kitchen door, towards the stairs.

Jessie turned to her dad and Dr. Quest, a worried look on her face.
“This isn’t good. He’s been acting like that all day. For a week now, I
think. what’s wrong?”
“I don’t know Jessie, but I’ve noticed it too. Well, maybe the party
will cheer him up, even though you too are probably going to be the
youngest ones there. Have you tried talking to him?” Benton asked.
“Not really. I asked him what was wrong earlier, but he only said that
he hadn’t been getting enough sleep lately. but I don’t think that’s the
only problem. But I don’t know what else is. Hopefully he’ll be better
by morning. I’m turning in. I have a test in chemistry tomorrow. G’nite
dad, Dr. Quest.”
She sat up and followed Jonny’s route, out the door and up the stairs.
Stopping at his door, she knocked gently. No answer. *I'll just check
to see if he’s awake anyway.* she thought, quietly opening the door.
Jonny was lying on his bed, fully clothed, staring up at the ceiling.
He glanced at her when she came in, but then looked back up at the
ceiling.
Jessie walked over and sat down next to him. “Jonny, what’s wrong. you
can tell me. And don’t give me this junk about not getting enough sleep,
‘cause I know there's more.”

He looked at her. She looked beautiful sitting there, and he could tell
that she really was worried about him. Sighing, he decided to tell her
about the dreams. Nightmares, actually.

A few minutes later, he had finished telling her, though he had left
out the part of the girl reminding him of her. She was staring at him
with shock, her face white, her emerald eyes open wide
“Jess; what’s wrong?” Now he was worried. Maybe he shouldn’t of told
her.
“I, I don’t know how to explain this. I’ve been having the same dream.
Except I’m the one whose walking in the woods, the one in the green
cloak. And the dream always ends with me feeling something in my back,
something like a knife.”
He drew in his breath sharply.“Now this is too weird for school.” Jonny
whispered.	“Jonny, what’s going on?” she looked worried, maybe even a
little scared. Jessie, scared of a dream? This was definitely new. And
he wasn’t sure he liked it.
************************************************************************How'd
you like it? I know it wasn't as good as the first part, but I need ed
to get this in here. Now the fun begins!
