Hi, I'm a ::gasp:: Newbie, and this is my first attempt at a JQ-type
story. Please let me know what you think of it.

Daddy Can You See Me?

*Momma gives birth to a little child, daddy waits with a patient smile.*
Estella holds a newborn in her arms as the doctor goes out to tell
Race the good news.
*They tell him what he's brought into the world, they all can tell
she'll be a daddy's girl.*
Race celebrates the good news as the people in the waiting room
congratulate him.
*He hears a voice as she starts to cry, he looks through the window
tears fall from his eyes,*
Race goes to the nursery window to see his little girl, she's
crying, but when she sees Race her cries immediately stop.
*Overwhelmed with the thoughts of the day, he swears he hears her say
Daddy can you see me?*
When she's older Race plays Peek-A-Boo with her as she smiles and
laughs.
*Daddy can you hear the words I say?*
Estella and Race are amazed to hear her first word is "Dada."
*I've got your hands, your eyes, and your hair, and this little thing
you call a teddy bear.*
In her cradle she holds a small teddy bear that Race had laid down
beside her.
*I'll do what I can to make you proud, daddy can you see me now?*
When Race gets home from work she holds up a fingering painting for
him. He gives her a big hug and a kiss on the cheek.
*He takes me fishing like I'm one of the guys, no one can break these
ties that bind*
Race helps her reel in a big fish.
*We've got a bond that's precious and dear, and it's stayed the same
through all these years. As I get older and time goes by, he's got a
shoulder when I need to cry, and when I think I'm doing ok, I look to
him and say: Daddy can you see me?*
When she's older Race plays Peek-A-Boo with her as she smiles and
laughs.
*Daddy can you hear the words I say?*
Estella and Race are amazed to hear her first word is "Dada."
*I've got your hands, your eyes, and your hair, and this little thing

Race stands in graveyard with red roses in his hand, looking at a
tombstone marked "Jennifer Marguerite Bannon"
*I look to the heavens for some kind of sign, for you to tell me that
I'm doing fine. *
Race looks towards the sky and talks to his little girl in heaven.
*And every night when I kneel down to pray, I wonder if you hear me say
Daddy can you see me?*
Jenny's ghost visit's Race in his dreams.
*Daddy can you hear the words I say?*
Jenny tells him that it wasn't his fault that she died and tells
him to take care of her baby sister.
*My life has changed since you went away and I need to know if I'm doing
ok.*
Race begs her not to leave.
*I've done all I can to make you proud, daddy can you see me now?
Jenny tells him that she has to go.
*Oh I've done I'll I can to make you proud, daddy can you see me now?*
