Prelude: To Destiny
Odd exotic insects crawled within the ancient walls of this once
magnifisent mayan temple. Larenzo Carnavon stomped on a big beetle with
his ex-expensive shoes. A young guide at his side seems agitated. She
points to a wall and then, will shattered, runs away in fear.Larenzo
shrugged, took out a notebook, and began copying the images on the wall.
Larenzo appeared from the temple at daybreak, all his observations
carfully catalouged. The others should be at his location in a matter of
hours. He sat down and waited.
Julia and a small band of armed natives stepped into the clearing
where the temple had stood, about an hour after Larenzo had sat down to
rest. The armed natives took one look at what was in the clearing,
checked their location on the GPD [Global Positioning Device] and turned
tail and ran. Julia looked around, where Larenzo's campsite had been,
there was now a barren crater, that crater extended and covered the
section of ground the temple had at one time taken up. Suddenly, Larenzo
came flying through the trees and grabbed Julia, knocking her over, just
a vaulting piller of pure laser cut througth the area where he head had
been.
Larenzo had started off through the lush South American jungle, with
Julia trailing behind. When he finally stopped moving he just kept
taking about moving lights and aliens trying to kill him. Then he placed
something in her hand. Then continues on without her. Julia realizes
what she has, and begins the long track back to civilaztion, weary of
the aliens that could be following her.
One week later Dr. Jarimia Surd looks over the notebook, stops at an
image, and then hands it over to Julia, and tells her to scan them into
the portable Questworld. He then shuts himself down and waits.
Part One: First Contact
Chapter 1: Just Another Day
He woke up slowly, his eyes fluttering, he tried to go back to sleep
but finally gave way to wakefullness. Seconds after he woke up, the
alram from his clock, was replaced by a song called "Sometimes By Step".
He causally went over and smashed the sleep button on the clock, and
just for good measure, yanked the power cord out.
He was about to set down and his computer when there was a knock on
the door. "Whoisit?" He asked in morning talk. "Just making sure you
were up that's all" Jessie's voice called back. "Whatdoyaneed", Johnny
asked. "Just to remond you that we had a Drangon Rider tournament at
4:00 am. Johnny turned slowly and looked at the clock above his door.
9:00 am! Ah crap!! "Sorry!" He yelled. "Ya well tell Hagi too, he was up
before I was to act as moniter!" Johnny glanced around around quickly,
found a pair of pants. As he put them on, he looked around and found an
excuse. "The alarm clock didn't go off on time." "I just heard it go
off, you didn't set it". He found a shirt and put it on. He looked at
the sky, it was gray. "Uh, power surg?" "Don't think so" Jessie called
back. "Um, I forgot?" "Sounds right to me." Johnny kinda sighed,
muttered a curse at the alarm clock, and left.
Hagi made a comment about Johnny's little oversleeping, but not
much else. He was trying to meditate. Not an effective monitor, but a
monitor none the less. As usual, Johnny got the chair with the spring
that hit you right in the back of the neck, [not pleasent] but had it's
own cup holder. [Nice] He got the uplink that scraped against and
occasionally cut his ear. He peered into the iris'. Hagi didn't even
bother with the countdown.

Chapter 2: And A new Element Enters A Deadly Game
Johnny felt a wave of nausea sweep over him. Funny, that had never
happened before... He put that thought to the back of his mind. He
grabbed the crossbow that floated in front of him and scanned the sky.
If he knew Jessie, she already had a dragon and would come after him
shortly. He wasn't good at dragon riding, he preferred ground to air
combat. A dragon came up on his left, he swiveled and launched his
crossbow. The arrow hit the dragon in the neck. The dragon exploded due
to the stomach gases that kept it light than air being upset. He
supposed he could have caught it, but so could Jessie. One less for her,
nothing against him. He explored the lush jungle enviroment, and found a
power enchancer, a small projectile firearm, and a longsword. He was
just about to jump into a clearing when he stopped and listened. Yes,
someone was in the clearing! He peered through the brush and hefted the
firearm. It was Jessie alright, but she was being held captive, by Surd!
Surd was holding a mettalic disk the size of a man's head. He was
talking to her. She spit in his face. Then slammed the disk strait into
her face! The disk itself never made contact, tentecales popped out of
the disk just before impact, they began covering Jessie! Inraged, Johnny
threw himself from his hiding place, taking potshots at Surd as he ran
towards him. Jessies started screaming. Johny ripped the power enchancer
from his belt and put it on, using it to deflect shots fired at him by
Surd. Surd threw down his laser weapon and pulled out the claw
enchancment. Three slivery blades caused three bloody cuts on Johnny's
chest. Jessie's screaming became louder. Johnny pulled out his longsword
and met Surds claw, slicing Surd's claws t shreds. Jessie's screaming
had stopped. Johnny fought to look at her, but Surd blocked his vison.
Suddenly, a laser pierced Surd's shoulder. "Julia clot the blood quickly
and send be to datarecorder EZ-15!" Surd disappeared and reappeared on a
platform high in the sky, beyond Johnny's field of vision. He ran to
her, but stopped in midstep. No longer was Jessie he knew, it had been
replaced with an evil looking thing with spikes coming out of it's
elbows, knees, and head. It was a robot, Johnny was sure, because of
it's mettalic appearance and the fact it was idly standing there, most
likley thinking in getting rid of Surd was it's only task. But then it
moved, faster than ligtning, and punched Johnny squarly in the chest,
not breaking any bones, but still managing to cause quite a lot of air
time. Johnny, cursed, he screamed at Hagi, but Hagi was involved in
thought. Hagi didn't hear any of the screaming that followed.
Chapter 3: And Time Bends To Reveal The Purpose
Hagi was floating through a South American jungle, it was hot, bugs
filled the air, a bird song pierced the insects' gentle buzz on
occasion. He flew into a clearing. In the clearing was a Mayan temple
and a small camp. And sitting on a rock was... Larenzo? Something
shuffled in the underbrush, a snake prehaps, and Larenzo looked right
where Hagi was floating. His mouth dropped open. Then he pulled out his
9mm and fired, Hagi swivled, and when he was hit, the bullet simply
passed through him. Hagi felt a need to retreat, but there was also
something that told him that he nor Larenzo would want to be in this
clearing. So he floated off into the underbrush. Larenzo picked up a
notebook, then followed after him, gun in hand. Mere seconds after
Larenzo had cleared the clearing there was a great explosion, Larenzo
was alive, but badly hurt, and in shock. Then Hagi woke up to the sounds
of screaming.
Chapter 4: The Transition and Wounds that Could Never
Heal
Hagi acted quickly, and shut the power to Questworld down totally.
Johnny woke up screaming, but Jessie didn't move. Hagi ran forward in
horror, to help his friend, then he noticed the three slashes across
Johnny's chest. Then he saw the blood.
Johnny only saw that horrible robot, that thing that had almost broken
his neck. He grabbed the robot around it's midsection and tryed to
through it into the wall, but then he realized that it was Hagi, that
the power enchanmenthad left him, and that he was in the real world.
Hagi left Johnny blinking, as though he was trying to wake up from a
bad dream, and hurried over to Jessie. He looked at her puples, and
noticed REM. Well she was still alive. Johnny had regained sanity and
stepped over beside him. "Is she is she..." "No she is not dead my
friend" Hagi checked her pulse. "She is simply asleep" Johnny muttered a
curse and was going to use the lighthouses vidaphone when he realized he
was still bleeding. "@%#$!" He yelled, and kick the VR chair he had been
sitting in minuets ago. He got out a medkit and began patching himself
up.
Jessie woke up screaming, she quickly settled down though. She was
sweating, and her lower lip was trembling. She got up, shaking at first,
then straiter. But then she saw Johnny's wound. She drew her hands up to
her face and began sobbing, "Itsallmyfault itsallmyfault
itsallmyfault..."
Johnny suddenly felt lightheaded, he drew his hand away from the wound
he was putting pressure on and saw it was gone. All there was was a
faint, red glow.
Jessie must have gone into shock, because the next thing she
remembered was waking up on the VR chair, with her hands and legs tied
down. Hagi was bent over a computer readout, and Johnny was just kind of
sitting in a corner, looking at the wall. When Johnny saw she was awake,
he left wall watching and ran over to her. "Are you okay?" He asked her.
"Are you okay is what I would like to know." Jessie replied. Touching
Johnny's chest, trying to figure out were those horrible slashes had
gone. "I'm okay" Johnny said.
Part Two: The Assault
Chapter 1: Larenzo's Replacment and the sattilite
Stregez stood on the deck of the flatbed boat as it cruised towards
Maine. The ocean spray wetting his face and black hair. He could see a
landform just over the horizen. He felt someone approach, he turned, and
found himsef staring into his secret solemate. Julia embraced him,
kissing him on the cheek. "I'm so glad you finally took the job Stre"
Julia said. "I didn't have much choice,"Stregez said. "Your boss can be
very... convincing." "Surd wants everyone inside, he's about to fire,"
they seperated, each waiting two minutes after each other. There was no
way Surd could know that they had affections for each other.
The floor of the flatbed boat folded away, revealing a large,
futuristic device. It rotated on it's axis, and leveled up to a certain
point in the sky. A humming sound was being emitted from the cannon. Up
in the Earth's atmosphere, a communications sattilite float in it's
endless cosmic balette, transmitting and recieving messages faster than
you could imagine. Suddenly, it began recieving data from a new source,
then came an imeasurable amount of power.
Surd entered his portable Questworld, and used it to uplink to the
sattilite B3-EX. Then he began to enter the runes and coordinates.
In South America, three shadowed figures were approching a man that
was shaking, screaming, trying desperatly to climb up the mountian he
was pinned against. One of the figures twisted it's head, then motioned
to the other two. One still approached though. The leader of the crew
must have been in a hurry, because he turned and fired something in his
hands. A flare of blue green energy. The rouge being was stunned, then
it vanished. The others dissappeared as well, leaving Larenzo to claw
his fingers to bloody nubs trying to get up the cliff's face.
"Oh #$**" Johnny cursed. "The sattilites' not responding." Jessie
looked concerned. "That shouldn't happen, even if it is experimental."
Johnny went back to the computer and checked the coordinates again.
"It's right over our heads!" Johnny yelled. "Wait wait," Jessie said.
"The request is getting to the sattilite, it's rejecting us." It was two
days later. They had missed the sattilite on it's first rotation and the
government had repositioned it above L.A. for some reason the second
rotation. Now they couldn't even use it to call his dad and Race. Hagi
was meditating again. Johnny was getting to the point of anger. "Why the
hell does he always do that!?!" Johnny was growing histarical. "We
almost died in Questworld because of that!" "Give him a break, he's been
under enough stress already!" Jessie said, coming to Hagi's deffense.
"This is way to weird." Johnny sat down, and rested his head in his
hands. That conversation was being monitered.
Jessie went to her room and locked the door. She had been under a lot
of stress lately, and last night she had noticed these... things on her
back. She removed her shirt and got out a mirror. She walked to a mirror
hanging on her wall, she turned her back to the wall mirror, and used
the hand mirror to see what was on her back. They looked like crosses
between a brain and a blister. They pulsated where they sat on her
shoulderblades. She poked one gently, to see if there was a reaction.
None. That was when she heard the sound of the autoturrets installed in
the lawn and flower beds begin to fire.
Chapter 2: The Surface, Stregez's commando's, and bright
lights in the sky
In her bedroom, Jessie collapsed. The only movement in the room was
that of the strange, pulsating things on her back.
Johnny knew that sound, he HATED that sound. Hagi was brought out of
his deep sumpter. They were in the communication's room. They would have
to cross quite a lot of space between the main house, where all the
weapons were kept. Johnny usally hated guns, but this was an exception.
They had almost killed him, and done something that might have been
worse to Jessie, he was quite agitated. All this building had was a
small firearm, but he couldn't remember where is was.
Stregez's commandos filed out of the small boat. Almost immeadiatly
the autoturrets began firing. Stregez ordered the troops to take
deffinsive postions at the lighthouse and in the cliffs that surrounded
the compound. One, two, three, four turrets had been taken out within
the first three minutes. The others shouldn't take much longer.
Jessie began to breath very quickly, she vomited, then had
wakefullness slip away from her grabbing fingers. Her sleep was only
eased when all that dumb noise stopped.
Johnny grabbed the cushion from the rolling chair that sat at the
computer terminal and ripped it from it's frame. He reached in and drew
out a semi-automatic pistol. He checked the clip. Thirty-six, bronze
casing, 1-inch long. Not bad.
And then they came forth to try to bring order to chaos.
Stregez's commandos had accomplished what his brother never did.
Disable and secure the area surrounding the compound. He was about to
move in when a light, brighter than the sun, appeared over the compound.
Stregez screamed at his men to open fire, but the bulluts did no visible
damage. Then forms began to materilize on the ground. And so commenced
what Quests and Efinness' [Larenzo, Strefez] would remember as 'the
assault' or, more appropriatly, 'the slaughter.
In Jessie's room something popped, there was a hiss and a wrapping,
melting sound. and the surface was reached.
Chapter 3: The Assault, The Birth, The Stand, and The
Capture
Johnny shoved open the door, looked out, and motioned to Hagi to
follow him. They ran into the main house just as the brillant lights
appeared.
Half of Stregez's men changed to motar's while the other half
concentrated on the being that had just landed. They beings were large,
furry, and looked like some parts of them were robotic. They rushed
forward, using their long fingers and their horrible teeth to kill his
men. Stregez switched to his sig-crow and took careful aim at the
nearest creature. He pulled the trigger. The beings flesh was blown
away, revealing a white sckull beneath. But then the robotics grew over
the wound forming a cybernetic head and upper arm. Stregez noticed that
some of them walked on all fours, while others walked upright. One
creature walked right up to him, cutting the man in front of him in half
using the gun it carried. Stregez calmly unloaded the other barrel of
the sig-crow into the creatures left hand, and grabbed the weapon it
dropped. He put pressure on the part of the gun he had observed the
being do, and blew the alien that was still growing an arm away,
permentaly. He tossed the gun to the nearest commando and told him to
kick some ass. He loaded both barrels of the sig-crow and repeated the
process to another approaching being. He decided, while he was blowing
the second one away, that these creatures must be alien. He decided the
boss might like a live one.
Johnny began barricading the door as soon as Hagi got through. As
soon as he and Hagi had gotten a couch over to the door though, some...
thing, broke throught the door. Johnny shot the creature in the eye and
in what might have been the left temple. The creature was stunned,
giving Johnny and Hagi enough time to escape. Hagi, however, dragged the
beast along with them. Johnny start to object, but then realized that
the creature had just broken through the door. It might have simply been
seeking shelter from a very deadly rain.
Johnny and Hagi dragged whatever it was into Jessie's room. Jessie
wasn't there. Johnny checked his gun and went off to look for her. Hagi,
meanwhile, did something he had never wanted to do, he invaded the mind
of the creature's mind.
Hagi was floating in an alien world of colors, but as soon as he
rendered the 4th dimension invisible, he found he was sitting on a stone
floor. He was observing two of the creatures hold a human down. He saw
one of the creatures preduce a disk from his pocket. The being then
slammed the dsk into the humans head. What Hagi saw next caused him to
go into a state of amazment and horror.
Johnny came back before Hagi had exited the beings mind. He took a
paperclip from his pocket, unfolded it, and jammed it into the beings
brain. If this thing's anatomy was anything like a humans, that would
ethier kill it or keep it under. The latter was more possible. That was
when Johnny noticed the trail of membranish goo on the floor. It led to
Jessie's bed.
Jessie felt someone take her up in his arms, she felt light, she
felt life once again.
Johnny raised his head back in horror, he knew in his heart it was
Jessie, but it looked like a giant scab! Then he saw it hardening into a
thick shell. "OH MY GOD!" Johnny screamed, he didn't care if anyone
outside heard or not. When the safeguard had been turned off...
Stregez was running low on men, but so were the aliens. A man next
to him was saved when the aliens arm went flying away. He took the alien
weapon and handed the cammando his sig-crow. Then he litteraly hurled
himself into the thick of it. Alien flesh burned and alien blood
spilled. That day, Stregez and three out of the original thirty men
walked into the house to claim the prize they had earned. They never saw
the light from the ship suspended in the air grow brighter.
Johnny held Jessie to his chest, tears flowing down his face. Then
Jessie moved. She released herself of Johnny's grip and got up. "I fell
so... strange" Jessie said, rubbing her head. Johnny suddenly realized
that it was possible that Jessie didn't know what she had become. It was
about this time that Stregez broke down the bedroom fortifications.
Stregez scanned the room and without hardly any hesitation, opened
fire. Then he realized what he was firing at. The six foot tall creature
walked up to him and said, "What's the matter? Cat got your tounge?"
That was when Stregez and his three friends left, in a hurry. Hagi got
up and began to follow them, but Johnny stopped him. "Don't bother, they
won't be.. coming... back." "You don't understand my friend, we can't
let them take him, it could lead to war!" Hagi yelled looking at him
strait in the eye as only Hagi can. "Our world could end". "No" Johnny
said, glancing at Jessie. "No it won't"
Jessie got a look at herself in a wall mirror. She screamed, and ran
though the wall fell a story, and continued running towards the beach.
Johnny and Hagi followed. Hagi stopped at each human corpse, and said a
prayer for them. Johnny continued on, and found Jessie lying in the
sand. Tears seeped from the veiwing lenses. He walked up to her and
offered his hand. She refused it, so he lyed down next to her. "Get
away" Jessie said. "We don't know what I'm capable of right now" Johnny
drew her own mettalic body closer to his own. "I trust you" was all he
said. Then, huddled together in the sand, they slept.
Epiloge: Preview
Johnny woke up, he felt the warm ocean spary hit his face. The
first thing he saw was Jessie's red hair lying wetted against her
shoulders. He warm, human skin hugged his stomach tightly. The clothes
she wore yesterday were still in place, if not a tad wet and wrinkled.
He didn't want to wake her. He gently picked her up and carried her back
to the compound. There he layed her in her bed, and went downstairs.
Hagi was sitting at the table, sipping coffee. "What happened to all the
bodies Hag?" Johnny asked wearily. When he had carried Jessie back to
the main house there had been no bodies anywhere. "What bodies my
friend?" Hagi asked. "The ones from yesterday!" Johnny said, raising his
voice. "Why would there be any bodies?" Hagi asked. Johnny was about to
say something when two people in dark suits stepped out from behind a
door. "Johnathan Benton Quest?" Johnny nodded. "MiB, we need to discuss
last night with you."
To Be Continued...
I hope you enjoyed my first officail FanFic. The next MiB crossover
won't be sappy, I promise.
