this story.

It was a cold November 27 in Rockport, Maine when Jonny Quest woke up.
"Oh boy!" Jonny said, "Turkey Day!"
Jonny hurried up, put on his clothes, and ran downstairs. Thanksgiving
was Jonny's favorite holiday, so he was more than ready to help his family
make the Thanksgiving dinner.
When he got downstairs, he found Jessie Bannon and Hadji Singh, his best
friends, looking at a note lying on the table.
     "What is it?" Jonny asked.
"Dad and Dr. Quest have to fly down to Plymouth, Mass. to investigate an
artifact found." Jessie said, "So, we can't have a regular Thanksgiving
dinner."
"They said to get our stuff together and be ready to go when they come
back. We're going with them." Hadji said.
     "Oh, ok." Jonny said, disappointedly.
Jonny, Jessie, and Hadji got all their stuff together, and sat in the
living room waiting for the two men to come back.
"Jonny, why is Thanksgiving so special to you?" Jessie asked.
"Well, Thanksgiving was always Mom's favorite holiday, and, since she
died, I always feel like she's here with us helping us fix and eating
Thanksgiving dinner again. It just makes me feel closer to her." Jonny said.
"I think I know what you mean." Jessie said, "Before Mom and Dad split
up, and when Dad was home for Thanksgiving, we'd all fix and eat dinner, then
we'd sit down, watch the Macy's parade, play outside, and watch movies the
rest of the day. It was like Dad was always there, and we were one big
family."
"It must be hard for you, not being with your mom at Thanksgiving huh?"
Hadji asked.
     "You too, right?" Jessie asked.
"Yes, I miss my mother as well." Hadji asked.
They heard a car door slamming, and Race Bannon and Dr. Benton Quest
entered the house.
"Are you kids ready?" Dr. Quest asked.
     "Yes." the three answered together.
So, everybody piled into the van, and went to the airport. They finally
reached Plymouth, and Dr. Quest insisted on going to Plymouth Rock before
going to the hotel. Finally, they reached Plymouth Rock. There were lots of
people at a table set by Plymouth Rock. ::Probably a reenactment:: thought
Jonny ::Boy, I miss Mom.:: Race parked the car, and everyone got out.
"Happy Thanksgiving!" everyone at the table said.
     "What's going on?" Jessie asked.
"We knew how important this holiday was to you kids, so we wanted to
make it special." Dr. Quest said.
"Hi Jessie." Estella, Jessie's mother said, walking up to her daughter.
"MOM!!!!!!!" Jessie said running over and hugging her mom.
"Hello Hadji!" Hadji's mom said walking up.
"Mother!" Hadji said walking over to his mother.
Everyone walked off, talking to their parents except Dr. Quest and
Jonny.
"Jonny, what's wrong?" Dr. Quest asked.
     "I miss Mom." Jonny said.
"I know." Dr. Quest said hugging his son, "I miss her too, but there's
nothing we can do."
Just then, a voice filled the air saying, "Jonny, Benton, I love you."
"Mo...Mo..Mom?" Jonny said shocked at the voice.
"Rachel?" Dr. Quest asked, "Is that you?"
"Benton," the ghostly voice said, "Don't worry! I'm with you always.
Jonny, I'm proud of you, and I'm with you always, not just on Thanksgiving."
The ghostly voice faded away, and Jonny said, "I guess my mom is here
too!"
"C'mon." Dr. Quest said, "Let's go eat."
Jonny and Dr. Quest walked over to join the others and enjoy the holiday
knowing that all their loved ones are with them.
