Guess what? My physics teacher did have something in his mind to
keep me busy for a while... But nevermind! Here is the next chapter
of Reality, and things begin to get scary...

Disclaimer: I don't own all of these characters! HB owns Jonny

Last time we saw Jonathan Quest, he had made a shocking discovery:

He sat on the bed and grabbed Tommy again. 'It doesn't make
sense. This room has been Jenny's as long as I remember. Why should
   this be Jessie's room?'
And then, for the second time in less than an hour, Jonny
   Quest froze.
        He could remember her name.
"Jessie" he whispered in a low voice. "Jessie Bannon."

She didn't want to do it, but she could hardly resist. She
could never bring herself to hurt him, so she tried to fight back the
misterious force. She felt so relieved when the power commanding her
changed its mind. They were so close, she could feel his breath on
her face, so warm against her skin... The force controlling her didn't
need to repeat her order. Her lips closed the distance between them,
and they embraced each other, sharing a kiss in the middle of the
fog...
A voice called her. "Jessie.... Jessie..."
She woke up. When she opened her eyes, she saw her mother
standing in front of her. Jessie was resting her head in her father's
chest, his arm around her shoulders. Roger Bannon was snoring softly.
"Go to your room, dear." Estella told her almost in a whisper
as she slowly removed Roger's arms from her shoulder. "Your neck is
going to hurt tomorrow if you sleep in here."
Jessie smiled and placed a kiss in her mother's cheek. "Thank
you, mom."
She left the living room. As she walked up the stairs, she
looked back at the sofa to see her mother trying to wake up Roger.
Jessie smiled and walked to her room.
It took her a while to fall sleep. For several minutes all
she did was to stare at the ceiling, thinking about the events of
the day.
She knew that she would remember this day in the years to
come. It had been almost perfect, but there was a little detail that
bothered her.
For a while now, she had been having these strange dreams.
They involved different scenerios and different people. The details
were blurred, and she could barely remember them.
But there was something she remembered from every dream, a
common detail between all of them.
        A blue eyed, blonde boy.
And tonight... This one had been stranger than usual. She had
dreamed it before, of course. She remembered the fog and the swamp...
But this time she remembered something else.
        They had kissed.
Her last thought before falling sleep was that she had met
the boy before in real life... But where?
She had another dream that night, something about a train
and some lights... and the blue eyed boy. When she woke up that
morning she didn't remember the details of it, as always.

"What?" Jessie asked, somewhat confused after being dragged
by her mother's voice from a deep corner on her mind.
"I asked if there was something wrong." Estella replied,
a worried look in her face. "What's going on Jessie? You had been
quite distracted this morning. That was the fourth spoon of sugar
in your coffe"
"Oh." she said as she looked down at her cup. "It's nothing
mom."
"C'mon, I know you better than that. Something is bothering
you. Am I right?"
"Seriously, mom, everything is OK." They were only dreams after
all. But deep inside her, she didn't believe in her own words.
"Jessica," Estella said in a serious voice, putting away the
cup of Colombian coffe she had been holding in her hand. "What's
wrong?"
Jessie sighed. "I just have been having trouble sleeping
lately, mom."
        Estella raised an eyebrow. "And?"
"And I have a strange feeling, mom. I have these strange dreams
and I feel as if I had lived them before..."
        "Dejavu."
"Right. But the dreams are so weird... And when I wake up
I don't remember many things about it, but the feeling is in there."
        Estella nodded. "Is that all?"
"Well... There is a boy." she added, blushing a little. "He
is blonde, with blue eyes, and he is in every one of the dreams."
A silent 'oh' formed on Estella's lips. "And who is that
boy, if I may ask?"
"That's the weird part, mom. I don't have the slightest idea.
I have this feeling I have met him before, but I have never seen him
in my whole life. And I don't know why I feel this way."
And that was what was killing her. Ignorance was one thing
Jessica Bannon didn't like at all. She was always seeking answers to
her questions, the cause behind the effect. That's why she had decided
she would dedicate her life to science, to find the answers no one had
found before, answers that would not only quench her curiosity but help
other people as well.
And having such a mistery was something that worried her. What
was happening to her?
"How long have you had those dreams?" her mother asked after
a minute or two of total silence.
"I'm not sure. One month, maybe more."
Estella sighed. "I see. Perhaps you should talk about this
with someone qualified."
Jessie blinked once or twice. "What do you mean?"
"Well, if these dreams worry you so much, you should have
your reasons. I think you should talk about this with a psychologist."
Well, that was not the solution Jessie had in mind, but maybe
it could help. She didn't want anything to worry about in her last
weeks at home, so getting rid of those dreams by any way possible
were not a bad idea after all.

"You ordered some flowers, ma'am?" the boy asked when Jessie
opened the door. His face was covered by a bouquet of roses.
Jessie giggled as she grabbed them. "No, I didn't, but thanks
anyway, Enrique."
They seated in her sofa, and began to talk about everything.
Some minutes later, he had his arm around her and he had started
to come closer to her.
As he leaned down to kiss her, a quick image of the boy
in her dreams appeared in her brain. The image remained there well
after the kiss had ended.
'Forget everything about it, Jessie' she tought as she closed
her eyes and reste her head in his boyfriend's shoulder. 'It is only a
dream'.
But then again, why was she wishing Enrique would have blue
eyes?

                        ***************

"Let me get this straight" Hadji said in a calm voice. "There
are nearly five billion people living in the world. And you want me
to use the Quest Enterprises computer system to find one of them
when all the data you have is her name?"
Jonny scratched his head. "Well, if you put it that way..."
"I need more data. A birth date, social security number,
birth place..."
Jonny tought about it. What else could he remember about her?
Well, since she lived in the house maybe she was born here in
Rockport... And since Quest Enterprises had computarized the birth
records of the town as a little social service, it would be easy to
check those.
"OK, let's start in this area."
"What's the name of the girl, again?"
        "Jessica Bannon."
        "No middle name?"
Jonny closed his eyes. Yes, there was a middle name... but
it evaded him.
"She has one, Hadj, but I don't know it."
Hadji sighed and typed some commands into the keyboard. While
Jonny had certain interest in computers, he had never taken it further
than programming one small application or two. Hadji was the one of
the two who knew the most about them, and Jonny had a blind faith
in his friend's abilities.
Hadji's voice brought him back to reality. "There's no one
with that name who was born in Rockport, my friend. As a matter of
fact, there is no one with that name in the entire state of Maine."
        Great.
"These were the easy ones, Jonny, but searching state for
state is going to take quite a while, and let's not forget that the
girl you are seeking could have been born in other country or in a
place where the birth certificates are not stored in electronic media."
"Well, thanks anyway, Hadj. I'll tell you if I get my hands
on something else."
He was about to leave when Hadji's voice stopped him.
"Jonny, who is this woman? And why are you looking for her?"
        "I wish I knew, Hadj. I wish I knew."

He glanced at the clock as he exited from the bathroom. He
had less than half an hour to get dressed and go to Liz's house.
He had spent quite some time in her sister's rearranged bedroom,
trying to understand what was happening with him... and perhaps
remember one new thing or two about the misterious red haired girl.
He hadn't noticed how time had passed by until he heard Jenny's
giggles coming trough the living room. She had been surprised looking
at what his brother had done to her bedroom. Jonny had tried to
make an elaborate excuse, but then Jenny had said "I like it!"
'I'll never understand women' Jonny tought as Jennifer kissed
him on the cheek.
He had come back to his room to find the clock staring at him,
the red numbers on the screen telling him an important message: 'You
are going to be late'.
Now, not even fifteen minutes after his sister's arrival,
Jonny was brushing his blonde hair in front of the mirror, dressed
in white pants and black shirt. 'Forget about the tie' Jonny thought
as he picked his keys from his desk, 'If you don't arrive on time
Liz is going to kill me, tie or not.'
He was passing trough the living room when Rachel spotted him.
"There you are!" Rachel commented. "I was about to knock on your door.
Weren't you supposed to go out with Liz?"
Oops. He had forgotten to tell her that he was supposed to
have dinner with Liz's parents, and that it meant his date had been
rescheduled by one hour.
"You could say so, mom." He flashed her his best smile. "Wish
me luck!" And he dissappeared trough the door.

Jonny wasn't sure of how many transit laws he had broken,
but he arrived to Liz's house two minutes before the deadline. He
sighed and using all his courage, he rang the bell.
Not more than a couple of seconds happened before the raven
haired girl that had been Jonathan's girlfriend for about 24 hours now
opened the door.
"Hi, handsome!" she said with obvious excitement in her
voice. "We have been waiting for you!"
        "Ur..."
        "What?"
        "Er, Liz..."
"Why are you staring at me like that? Did I grow another head
or what?"
"Liz, you used to have hazel eyes."
She frowned. "What are you talking about? They have always
been green!"

Things were getting weirder by the minute.
Certainly, it didn't have anything to do with Mr. and Mrs.
Jones. Actually, dinner with them had not ended being the ordeal
Jonny had been expecting. They were quite nice, and Jonny felt lucky
his girlfriend had such nice parents.
Liz had been discrete the whole night. She only looked at him
briefly, although for more time than Jonny would dared to look
at her. After all, her parents were across the table. However, during
the whole dinner, her hand had been firmely tucked by his under the
table.
When it all had finished, she had kissed him goodbye under the
doorway, and Jonny had left her house with uneasy feelings.
All night long, he had taken brief looks to Liz's eyes. They
were green, but they were a familiar shade of green. He had realized
it when she had kissed him. That's when he had recognized the eyes.
They were the green eyes of the girl that appeared in his
dreams.
Jonny had no idea of what was going on, but he was starting
to feel afraid.

                        To be continued!
