In 1998 Roseanne arrived in Llanview to live with her aunt, Tea Delgado. Truly Roseanne only had one mission -- to get childhood friend Cristina Vega away from Jessica Buchanan. Roseanne hated Jessica from the moment she laid eyes on her as Roseanne saw Jessica as having everything she wanted -- lots of money, a big house and Cristian! After much effort, Roseanne was finally able to seduce Cristian they became lovers. Roseanne, however, was angry when Cristian still pined for Jessica, who was becoming involved with Will Rappaport.
Roseanne and Cristian moved to New York City when Cristian was accepted to art school there. Determined to keep Cristian and Jessica apart, Roseanne enlisted Will's help and said she needed money to keep her and Cristian in New York City. Will wanted to keep Cristian and Jessica apart as well and ended up giving Roseanne money from the Megan Foundation. When Will was later arrested, Roseanne refused to back him up in order to save her own neck!
After Jessica told Cristian that she was in love with Will, Cristian turned around and asked Roseanne to marry him. Roseanne instantly accepted the proposal and she vowed her role in Will's scheme would never come to light. Jessica, however, found out the truth and confronted Roseanne, who locked Jessica in a closet before heading to marry Cristian. Just as Roseanne and Cristian were pronounced husband and wife, Jessica arrived at the church and told Cristian the truth about Will and Roseanne's scheme. Cristian then walked out on an inconsolable Roseanne.
Roseanne refused to give Cristian an annulment even after he made it clear he no longer loved her. A short time later, Roseanne thought she had won the lottery when Tea left town and gave her the penthouse and R.J. gave her the one million dollars Tea had left for him. Roseanne then bought the mortgage on the diner and threatened to close it down unless Cristian stayed in their marriage.
Roseanne was furious when Cristian went on the run with Will and Jessica. Eventually, Roseanne saw the seriousness of the situation and realized that getting Cristian home safely was the more important then trying to save her already dead marriage. A more mature Roseanne had a change of heart and gave the diner to Carlotta outright. Roseanne was trying to make up for some of her past mistakes, but only time would tell if she had turned over a new leaf for good.
When Jessica and Cristian finally did return to Llanview, Roseanne let Cristian out of their marriage. Roseanne then set her sights on Cristian's older brother Antonio! Antonio resisted Roseanne's advances for quite a while, but they eventually became lovers. At this same time, Roseanne realized that Sophia had developed a crush on Antonio and these two friends soon became rivals. Sophia had Antonio's friendship and was his partner on the police force, but Roseanne had him in bed. Although mostly based on a physical level, Roseanne seems to want more of a commitment from Antonio.
By this point, Roseanne had gone through all the money that Tea had given her and had accepted a job answering phones at the police station. Roseanne also accepted RJ's offer to act as his spy at the police station and feed him information.
Roseanne was thrilled when Antonio asked her to move in with him. Roseanne's happiness was short-lived, however, after Antonio learned that she had deliberately withheld an urgent message for him from Sophia. As it turned out, Sophia was in desperate need of back up while protecting Kelly from the hitman and Roseanne had jeopardized Sophia's life by failing to give Antonio the message. Antonio was furious with Roseanne and told her to pack up and leave. A devastated Roseanne found herself at The Palace and began drinking too much. Colin saw Roseanne's vulnerability and convinced her to come home with him. After drinking too much wine, Roseanne slept with Colin. When Roseanne woke up she realized what she had done, and she was very upset. But when she realized who Colin was she was horrified!
Later, Antonio forgave her, and they soon got back into their relationship again. Although Roseanne still had problems. R.J. was now blackmailing her about spying on the police. Roseanne wanted to quit, but R.J. wouldn't let her. Colin was also a problem for Roseanne. Colin had tried to rape Rosanne several times, but Roseanne was rescued everytime. Roseanne finally told Antonio that she slept with Colin once, but he forgave her. Colin was later murdered, and Roseanne was a suspect!
Sophia started getting suspicious of Roseanne's stash of money. Sophia figured out that Roseanne's was R.J.'s spy in the police station. Before Sophia could tell Antonio, Sophia was injured in a freak accident while trying to bust R.J. Sophia was sent to Minnesota for rehibilitation, but not before telling Kelly Crammer that Roseanne was R.J.'s spy.
Kelly later told Roseanne that if Roseanne didn't tell Antonio about R.J. than she was going to. Roseanne was forced to tell Antonio, and Antonio was furious. Antonio did not tell the police though. He forced Roseanne to quit her job at the police station. Then Antonio broke up with Roseanne, and he left a heartbroken Roseanne crying all alone in the courtroom.
Roseanne went to R.J. and asked for a job at his bar, but when he wouldn't give her one, she was mad. Roseanne went to a voodoo expert, and asked her to put a curse out on R.J. for everything that he had done to her. The voodoo mistress, Senora Lena put a curse out on him, and R.J. was arrested for several crimes. Roseanne was very happy and felt that she had her revenge, but R.J. was eventually released from police custody when he had information about Colin's killer. Colin's killer had still not been revealed yet, and Roseanne was still a suspect in the murder.
After Roseanne realized that voodoo worked, Roseanne went back to Senora Lena for a love potion to win back Antonio. Roseanne gave Senora Lena her last $500.00 for the love potion. Before she used it on Antonio she wanted to make sure it worked first. So to get even with Kelly at the same time, she went to Kelly's house and pretended to apologize. She was about to slip it in her drink so that Kelly would fall in love with Rev. Andrew Carpenter and cheat on her boyfriend Kevin Buchanan, but instead Roseanne accidently spilled the potion. Roseanne went back to Senora Lena for more, but Senora Lena demanded another $500.00 and Roseanne didn't have that. Roseanne was lost, confused, and all alone.
In another visit to Senora Lena, Roseanne was told that if she didn't confess to her part with Colin's murder that Roseanne would be alone forever. Roseanne thought about confessing, but was too scared. Roseanne decided to leave town before anyone could find out about what she had done. Right before she left Antonio walked in and stopped her. In an attempt to finally be free of all her secrets and lies, Roseanne and Antonio went to the courtroom in the middle of the Sam Rappaport's trial. Sam was on trial for Colin's murder but Nora Buchanan, his lawyer, was remembering about the night of Colin's murder. When Nora saw Roseanne all of Nora's lost memories came back to her. Nora remembered pushing Colin down the stairs and seeing Roseanne watch and then run away. Nora started yelling at Roseanne for not coming forward about it. Roseanne told the court that it was true, and that she didn't come forward and reveal with what had happened because she was ashamed of what Colin had done to her.
Antonio later recommened that Roseanne not be prosecuted, but told Roseanne that they could never be together as a couple again. Roseanne was very upset, but finally relized that Antonio was right. Roseanne later had a tearful goodbye with Christian, and then left Llanview for good. Roseanne said that she was going to France to meet up with Tea.
