Qiong Yao ( Çí Ñþ ) has written many well-received Chinese novels since she started out her first book in 1963 which is titled Outside the Window ( ´° Íâ ). They were so popular that Taiwanese drama serials were made on them. Yue Ling, altogether, acted in three of the more popular ones.

The character ( Qing Qing Çà Çà ) that she plays is a wilful and quick tempered one. Forced to leave home, she takes her neighbour , ( Xiao Cao С ²Ý ) along with her. They plan to go to Yang Zhou to look for Xiao Cao's Uncle ( º£ Ò¯ Ò¯ ) and on the way meets Shi Wei ( ÊÀ ά ) who promises to send them safely to their destination. When they reach Yang Zhou, the three of them are forced to stay there due to unforeseen circumstances. Love blossoms between Qing Qing and Shi Wei under the shadow of a similar love match years before which had failed with terrible results.
Promise of Eternity - Princess Xinyue

Acting as Princess Xinyue ( РԠ¸ñ ¸ñ ) in this show, Yue Ling portrays a sweet and dignified character which is a world difference from her previous role. Here, she seeks shelter from a General (Ŭ ´ï º£ ) after her hometown where her father ruled was swarmed by enemy forces. She and her younger brother are the only survivors of the family and with no where to go, they put up at the General's home. Although the General is old enough to be her father and has children her age, they both fall in love. They go through lots of humiliation and isolation from the General's family but still proves that love conquers all. Their love is proven to last an eternity when Xinyue stabs herself and dies in the arms of the General when he was killed in war.
Ghost Husband

Although betrothed at birth, Le Mei ( ÀÖ Ã· - Yue Ling's character ) never knew her husband -to-be until she was 17. A chanced meeting at a festival sparked of a series of disasters. Old scores are brought back from the past to haunt the budding love relation between Le Mei and Qi Xuan ( Æð Ðù ) They go through numurous self-sacrifice and torture till they win the fight for the right to love each other. Just when all is well, disaster strikes again as Qi Xuan is disfigured in a fire where his confidence for Le Mei's love for him falls. Le Mei lives life aimlessly whhen she is deceived by her parents ( under Qi Xuan wishes ) that he is dead. Her mother, unable to watch Le Mei destroy herself, blurts out the truth and Le Mei finds the will to live again. She goes through alot to prove her undying love for Qi Xuan although he is not that he used to be. In the end, Qi Xuan is moved by her constant effort and defeats his inferiority.
