Friends Shut Out at Emmy's (Sept 13/99)
Once again, Friends, which received 4 nominations, failed to pick up an Emmy at this years' Emmy's. They were beaten out in the Best Comedy category by Ally McBeal, which I don't consider to be a comedy. And, Lisa Kudrow, lost the Best Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series to Kirsten Johnston of 3rd Rock From The Sun. David Schwimmer and Kudrow presented an award together. Jennifer Aniston, who arrived with Brad Pitt, and Matt LeBlanc also attended the ceremony. The awards showed a clip from Friends in different languages, which was great. The chosen clip was from TOW the Jellyfish where Monica, Joey and Chandler are explaining what exactly happened t the beach.

The awards were hosted by David Hyde Pierce (Niles on Frasier) and Jenna Elfmann (Dharma on Dharma and Greg). They were both horrible, especially Elfmann. The award itself was quite boring!

Attention, Calgary Frienatics (Aug 17)
On Wednesday, August 18, Calgary 7 will show 4 back to back episodes of Friends starting at 8:00 PM. I believe the episodes are re-runs from the 5th season but I'm not 100% sure about that. Watch them!

Matthew Perry's Birthday (Aug 14)
On August 19, Matthew Perry celebrates his 30th birthday. Happy Birthday!

6th Season Premiere
The sixth season of Friends will begin on Thursday, September 23rd. As of today, the 6th season will be the last season of Friends, unless the cast signs a new contract.

Friends nominated for Emmys (Aug 14)
Friends have been nominated for best comedy at this year's Emmy's. It's the first time since 1996 that they have been nominated. Lisa Kudrow has been nominated for best supporting actress in a comedy series again. She won this award last year. Let's hope Friends wins the best comedy award! It surely deserves it

Matthew Perry buys Mansion (June 21)
"Friends" star Matthew Perry, who stars in the upcoming flick "Two to Tango" with fellow TV stars Neve Campbell ("Party of Five" ) and Dylan McDermott ("The Practice"), has just purchased a $3.2 million Beverly Hills home. The one story 6,500 square foot abode was built in the 1970s, has four bedrooms, and a city to ocean view.

Courtney Cox weds David Arquette (June 15)
Actress Courteney Cox wed actor David Arquette on Saturday while hundreds of fans stood outside the church hoping to catch a glimpse of the couple and their celebrity guests. The marriage took place at Grace Cathedral, followed by a party at a 1930s speakeasy-style club where the newlyweds and 250 guests drank Dom Perignon and dined on steak and lobster.
Ms. Cox wore a white Valentino dress. Among those who attended were "Friends" actress Jennifer Aniston and her boyfriend, Brad Pitt; actor Richard Benjamin and his wife, Paula Prentiss; and Paul ``Pee-Wee Herman''Reubens. The couple met on the set of the 1996 horror comedy ``Scream''and appeared together last year in the film's sequel.
Arquette, 27, proposed to Ms. Cox, 34, on a Florida beach. Ms. Cox has co-starred on the TV show ``Friends'' since 1994. Arquette, the brother of actresses Patricia and Rosanna Arquette, recently appeared with Drew Barrymore in the film ``Never Been Kissed.'' Arquette also appeared on an episode of Friends as Malcolm the stalker in TOW The Jam (Episode 3-03)

Speaking of Courteney, it's her bithday today! She turns 33. Happy birthday and Congratulations on your wedding!

Monica and Chandler were Never Meant to Be! (June 1)
Monica and Chandler were never supposed to be more than friends, explains Friendsexecutive producer David Crane in the June 4 edition of Entertainment Weekly.

Originally Monica (Courtney Cox) and (gasp!) Joey (Matt LeBlanc) were supposed to be an item!
This was before we cast the show, said Crane. He said they thought the Monica/Joey romance might be a nice parallel to the Ross (David Schwimmer) and Rachel (Jennifer Aniston ) love affair.

But Monica and Chandler were so wrong together - it just seemed right.
We've gone out of our way to make it feel different than Ross and Rachel. We didn't do anything to lead up to it, Crane said. We thought it could be one episode or three, but they have so many problems built into their characters that it's yielded a ton of wonderful stories.

Duck wins an award! (Feb 4)
Hercules the duck, the lovable pet of Joey and Chandler's was voted the Favorite Pet at the annual TV Guide awards. Congratulations! or should I say "Quack, Quack!"

Courteney Engaged to Arquette(October 8)
"Friends" star Courtney Cox and her "Scream" co-star David Arquette are engaged. Arquette announced the engagement Tuesday during a press junket for his new film "The Alarmists." The two met during the filming of "Scream" (1996) and have been together, off-and-on, ever since. No date has been set.

Rumours about Friends: The Movie(September 27)
TV's smash hit sitcom Friends is coming to the big screen if film bosses can strike a pay deal with superstar Jennifer Aniston. It is planned to start filming Friends-The Movie in February. Most of the shows cast are believed to have accepeted an offer worth millions of dollars. But insiders say 29 year old Jennifer, who plays Rachel, is still holding out for more money. The source said "All the cast are invaluble. However, Jennifer's character is absolutley central to the movie. As one of the favourite girls in the series she holds the aces - especially if the movie plot centres around her winning back her former lover, Ross. And that's a massive possibility." The 90 minute film will be shot mainly in New York. But location scenes will be filmed in London and other parts of England. I warn this is still unconfirmed (rumours), but it would be great if it happens.! (Thanks Rachel Jones)

Congratulations, Lisa! (September 14)
Lisa Kudrow, who plays the ditzy Phoebe, won her first Emmy for outstanding supporting actress in a comedy series at the 50th Annual Emmy Awards. This was her third nomination and the only nomination for Friends at this year's Emmy's. "This isn't possible without you" she said after naming her co-stars.

Happy Birthday, Chandler Bing!
Matthew Perry, the youngest of Friends cast members, turns 29 on August 19.

Kudrow on Simpsons (August 15)
Lisa Kudrow has been added as a guest voice on a brand new episode of the "The Simpsons" called "Lard of the Dance." In this episode, Homer and Bart pursue a get rich scheme, while Lisa Simpson tries keeping them in line. The episode airs on Sunday, Aug. 23 at 8 p.m. (ET/PT) on FOX.

Friends on Syndication in US (August 7)
No more waiting, US fans. Friends will be on 5 times a week, sometimes 6, on most US states, starting Monday, September 21. Friends has been on Syndication in Canada since last September.

David and Jennifer More Than Just Friends (August 1)
They apparently had lunch together and acted more like lovers.
Also, they were in UK to promote their respective movies, David's 6 Days, 7 Nights and Jennifer's Object of My Affection, at the same time and attended them together. These are just rumours but...

Friends Snubbed from Emmys (July 24)
Friends wasn't nominated for Outstanding Comedy Series in the 50th Annual Primetime Emmy nominations. However, Lisa Kudrow was nominated for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series. This is her third nomination. It's time for her to win.

Happy Birthday, Matt and Lisa
It's party time for the gang this week. Matt LeBlanc, who plays Joey, celebrates his 31st birthday on July 25. On July 30, Lisa celebrates her 35th birthday.
