808 - Hank Donaldson, Chief of the Apache Indians, invents the world's first ant farm.

1645 - Tito Kivyu, a British colonist of the Americas, discovers the Apache tribe. He soon after learns of their "village for the bugs", steals the idea and markets it to a bunch of poor, white suckers.

1888 - A worldwide celebration is held. The festivities celebrate the fact that this is only the second time in history that three eights have been in the yearly date (the other was 888). Although many civilizations use other calendars, they participate in the celebration because the feat is so spectacular.
