1776 - The original draft of the Declaration of Independence is lost because Thomas Jefferson's computer crashes.

1934 - After being in a drinking induced coma for 15 years, Jerry Ganter awakens. He learns that he had slept during the entire prohibition period. To belatedly celbrate the repeal of prohibition, Ganter says he's gonna go out and "get lit". Seven hours later, Ganter dies of alcohol poisoning.
