To any Robotech fan this story is nothing new, and you've probably been a fan of Robotech, since many anime gurus should know of Robotech. Macross- Clash of the Bionoids is the English version of the Macross movie "Love - do you remember" and is a shortened version of our television series which told how the first robotech war was won. The characters are the same starting with Hikaru(Rick Hunter in Robotech), Misa Hayes(Lisa), and of course that whiny Lynn Minmei.

The plot is way condensed and you see Hikaru when he rescues Minmei for the first time and how he and Lisa are stranded on the destroyed surface of Earth after the attack. The final victory is only achieved by the culture of Minmay's song dumb-founding the enemy to take out the enemys fleet(a lot of Breetai's forces defected and helped the humans win).

It trys to compress the whole Macross saga into one sitting, which just does not work. Its too fast, too bunched together, and too short(did I say that already?). Its dub job is horrible and I have heard it called the single worst English dub in the history of translated anime. Do us a favor, do not be lazy on this one and go out and watch the whole Robotech series, is a lot more worthwhile.
