Vitez, Central Bosnia
This poor bear was trapped between two frontlines and abandoned by the owners as they fled for their life. The "Friends of the Bear" non profit organization from the UK found out about the bear, probably from a media report and came to Vitez to rescue the bear. The British army fearing that one of the British animal lovers would get killed as this was a dangerous area, they agreed to help the operation "Rescue the Bear". A smaller cage was brought to the scene and the army tried to lead the bear into the cage with a bottle of honey. That took few hours but it worked so then a large army crane lifted the cage with the bear in it and loading it on a truck that made it's way to Croatia.
