Mostar, Central Bosnia

We with some other journalist followed the first UN humanitarian convoy into the Muslim enclave of Mostar in Bosnia. We arrived in the town center at around 4 am and we where thrilled to be there. The idea was that we would go in, film and get out. We went in, we filmed, but we could not get out. The local population fearing that as we and the UN left the Croatians would start shelling them again decided to barricade the streets with buses and human shields. With no proper provisions and with always the hope that we would move soon we spent most of our time near the car which by now doubled as our living place Three days later we did manage to drive out and what a relief that was
