Biomass Computer: perceived as a holographic projection of the computer's persona; able to experiences emotions and form attachments to ship's crew.
Gen appears to the crew in holographic form and provides them with the instructions that will guide them through their mission. Gen, or Genesis DX-37, is the holograpic computer projection of Deepwater. In a certain sense, as the ship's "consciousness," Gen is Deepwater! She is also the "older and more mature" member of the crew who instructs/guides; she wishes the crew would return to stasis so she may carry out her mission. Gen is a Biomass Computer; thus she has organic components as well as mechanical -- she is alive. Gen, the female figure, is "perceived as a holographic projection of the computer's persona." "She" is able to experience emotion and become attached to the crew. Her software and bioware is advanced with an EQ (emotional quotient) monitor and alternative-seeking programming.
