Reb is the clone of a donor who was alive in 2097, and as a result, he carries with him the sensibilities of a civilian from the late 20th Century. Reb serves as the de facto captain and engineer of Deepwater Black. Reb Anderson is the decision-maker of the group. As the de facto captain of Deepwater, Reb's personality lends itself strongly to making command decisions and choices for the crew. He and Yuna serve as a form of co-captains because they woke up first from their pods (of course, after awaking, they argue!). Reb is the diplomat of the group who is calm under pressure. There have been hints of sexual tension between the characters of Reb and Yuna. The appearance of a previous clone of Reb hints at the "predestination" of a romance between Yuna and Reb. He is the Engineer of the crew. His early donor source gifted him with the attitudes of someone from the twenty-first century.
