SYNOPSIS
When
Ghost Story premiered in September 1972, it dealt exclusively with tales
of ghosts, vampires, witches and various other aspects of the supernatural. It
was hosted by Sebastian Cabot in the role of Winston
Essex. Essex would open the show by taking the audience to Essex House
and introducing the story as something that could happen to anyone. As
the story unfolded, however, it turned into a bizarre nightmare of one kind or another. On
January 5, 1973, the title was changed to Circle of Fear. Under
the new title stories of suspense could be included that did not have
supernatural overtones. In addition, the narrator was no longer part of
the program.
