SYNOPSIS
This espionage series was ousted off TV because it portrayed world events a little too realistically.
In the post-Cold War era, the operatives of the National Intelligence Agency, especially husband-and-wife team Dylan & Kate, were concerned as much with their personal lives as with the enemies they faced. Their assignments dealt with third-world troublemakers and leftover Soviet spies, and it was one of the the third-world troublemakers that caused the program so much grief.
In a two-part story, a team was sent to Kuwait just before an Iraqi invasion. Part one aired on January 12th, but part two - in which Iraq plotted to fire virus-carrying missiles into Israel - would have appeared right after the real Gulf War broke out and it was abruptly pulled from the schedule. It did finally air on July 13, 1991 - preceded by a repeat of part one - as an ABC Saturday Night Movie.
Two additional unaired episodes were telecast the following Saturday, July 20th, disguised as the movie Spy Games.
