COMMANDO broke his first record at the age of 13 - for the slowest 100m dash!!
Being teased at school for being fat and slow, COMMANDO threw himself into comic books which lead to his fascination of superheroes and eventually bodybuilding.
At 17, he joined the Royal Marine Commandos (little did he know that this would be the basis for his Gladiator name!) to live out some of his fantasies.
He received his Green Beret and Commando stripes and started competing in bodybuilding competitions.
At 20, he won his city championship in Plymouth and qualified for the national British championships.
However, he gave it all up to come to Australia and headed straight for Sydney where he started up his own personal training business and now boasts clients such as Marcus Graham, Dieter Brummer, Paul Mercurio, Jackie Weaver and Michael McCormack (the beast in Beauty and the Beast).
Although born in Plymouth, England, Commando spent the first four years of his life in Mackay (Queensland) as his mum is Australian.
He also travelled the world extensively with his father who was in the merchant navy and went to school in Japan before returning to Plymouth.
