Mike Hammond is a broadcasting professional whose career in radio and television stretches over 12 years.
He has worked prime-time radio shifts in Sydney, Melburne, Canberra and various regional markets in New South Wales.
From 1990 until February 1995, Mike hosted the morning program on Sydneys number one and Australias most listened to radio station 2DAY-FM, where he was a constant ratings winner over the past four years in all age demographics under 50.
Mike also hosted a nationally syndicated radio program, The Rock 40 Countdown, Australias number one countdown show.
Mikes television career started in 1986 where he hosted all music programs on Sky Channel for three years. In 1990 he was a regular guest host for the Seven Networks TONIGHT LIVE. He was also the regular host of STAR SEARCH (1991), GOOD MORNING AUSTRALIA (1992), guest host of LIVE IT UP (1994) and the host of JIM CARREY - IN LIVING COLOR - all for Network Ten.
Mike is a multi-award winner of the prestigious Rawards for Australian radio broadcasting including: Best New Syndicated Program The Rock 40 Countdown (1991); Best General Announcer in Australian Radio (1992); Best Music Personality in Australian Radio (1993) and was a finalist for Best Music Personality (1994).
From 1993-1995, Mike hosted Ansett Australias inflight contemporary music program where he was in constant contact with leading celebrities as well as guest interviewer Ian Molly Meldrum. He currently hosts the inflight music programs for Malaysian Airlines and air Maldives.
Mikes credit also include corporate videos for clients such as New Zealand Government Travel Corporation, Ansett Airlines, Qantas, Woolworths Supermarkets among others.
Mike is currently the national voice artist for Network Ten and is also working on a number of new television projects with them.
Mike has just joined the Seven Networks top rating sports fitness program GLADIATORS as co-host with Kimberley Joseph.
Hosting Gladiators was an amazing experience! To go from watching the show to hosting the show which takes 200 people to put together and is recorded in front of a live audience of 3,000 people is something everyone in my business would love to have a go at!!
