Twenty-one year old Kimberley Joseph was born in Vancouver but her family moved to Australia when she was three and settled on the Gold Coast. Her father, Joe, owned and operated the first of two McDonalds franchises on the Gold Coast and he is now involved with Hungry Jacks fast food chain.
At the age of 13, Kimberley got the opportunity of a lifetime when she moved to Switzerland and attended St. Georges school for four years.
I had the best of both worlds, says Kimberley. I made friends all around the world, learnt about different cultures and ways of life yet still had the opportunity to come home three times a year. Even though I travelled the world and saw lots of wonderful countries, I also realised how lucky I was to be living in such a fantastic country as Australia.
On Kimberleys return to Australia in 1991, she attended Bond University where she studied Arts and Commerce for a year. She deferred her studies when she signed up with an agency and started getting extras roles on shows such as Time Trax and commercials.
She then successfully auditioned for the role of Cassie on paradise Beach which she worked on for 15 months until April 1994. After paradise Beach Kimberley decided to take a well earned break and travelled to the U.S. and Canada to visit family and friends for three months.
On her return, Kimberley was offered the job of co-hosting GLADIATORS, the Seven Networks exciting new sports fitness challenge program.
Gladiators is the most exciting event in my life to date. Its given me the opportunity to show a different side to me and to explore a new angle in my career. I think it will appeal to a broad range of Australians - its got a long life!
Kimberley is fluent in French and Spanish and has had eight years ballet experience. Her other hobbies and interests include horse-riding, snow skiing, swimming, tennis and bicycle riding.
Kimberley is an only child and has a half-brother Grant and half-sister Jody who live in Seattle and Canada respectively.
